Polaris Rose rises with love, chemistry and joy by Patrick O’Heffernan

April 20, 2015

“Joy” is not a word normally associated with alt. rock, but Friday night Polaris Rose produced some of the most joy-filled l music I have ever  heard on the stage of the venerable Hotel Café in Hollywood. The gifted musical couple Peter Anthony and Madelynn Elyse have grown their melodious talent and tightened their onstage personal chemistry several orders of magnitude since they released their 2013 debut EP, “The Moon & its Secrets” – and they were impressive then.  Today, Polaris Rose is now undeniably in the top rung of LA’s nationally-recognized alt rock pantheon. Joined by guitarist Matt Saba and drummer Carlos Beltran, Peter and Maddie played songs from all of their albums plus a new song, “Tiger Bait”,  that they debuted in January on Instagram.  Their evolution over the past two years was brilliantly obvious.  Joy with precision flowed from the stage as Peter and Maddie and the band moved through a diverse 8- song set that swung from  magically mystical to soaring rock. But no matter how diverse the music, each song was [Read More]

Station Track by Track guide for their new album

April 20, 2015

Just last week one of our favorite rock bands, Station released their self titled debut album which was recorded at The Music Refinery. These bad ass rockers released a complete 15 song rock album that will deliver a full dose of rock n roll to infect your soul. We featured Station last year as one of our highlighted bands of Rocklahoma. You can check out our interview with them and that post here: Station – Our Rocklahoma Featured band. Their new album makes the statement that Rock n Roll is far from being dead. With these dedicated rockers at the helm, there is no letting rock die. With engaging vocals, kick ass guitar riffs, 80’s over the top energy, this album will soon become the playlist of your life. It will not only have us middle agers reflecting back on our love of the 80’s but with its modern flair, the younger generation fall in love with it as well. You can’t help but get addicted to Station. We recently talked with guitarist, Chris Lane and [Read More]

Concert Review: Lord of The Lost and Florian Grey in Munich by Alexandra

April 19, 2015

Concert Review Lord Of The Lost / Florian Grey Munich, Backstage-Werk, April 17, 2015   So the German band Lord Of The Lost invited to ‘A Night To Remember’, an acoustic concert with an additional string quartet, yesterday at the Backstage in Munich. First time I’ve been to that venue and there were actually seats there and a great part of the audience was dressed up pretty nice ‘n neat. On every seat lay a program, which contained the timeline of the evening, all the musicians that played and a short paragraph from the band that welcomed everyone and also gave a brief insight on what the evening will be. It started off with Florian Grey. As stated on his home-page, he plays Dark Pop music. He’s not new to the music business and sang in a few projects and bands over the years. That night he played an acoustic set which was received well by the crowd. His debut solo album will be released May 29, 2015. The producer of this album is Chris [Read More]
