Interview with our Mayhem Fest highlight, Kissing Candice

  One of our highlights of this year’s Mayhem Fest is Kissing Candice, the gore core metal band from Long Island, New York. They have been destroying the Victory stage with their masks, blood, guts and metal. They recently released their debut album, Blind Until We Burn on Victory Records. Emberville may be from a small isolated city but it is now time for everyone to know them. They have just released their new album Scare City and it is ready to deliver a much needed dose of Post hardcore ROCK N ROLL! The album carries enough heaviness to get your blood pumping and then takes you for a spin with screams and melodic cleans. We recently introduced you to the angelic vocals of Sofia Donavan. At only eighteen years old, she has been garnering the attention in the music scene, whether it be country, folk or pop.   Another Century which is a hard rock label launched by Century Media Records founder recently held an industry showcase at the Viper Room in Hollywood. We were excited to catch up with XO Stereo which recently announced their signing with Another Century. They are working on their debut release and have plans to have it out sometime this fall. VAN HALEN delivered an epic full on ROCK N ROLL set at Shoreline Amphitheater

What a night it was! We just returned from the incredible performance by Van Halen as they brought their LIVE ON TOUR to the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View. The venue was packed and with all the traffic getting in, we unfortunately missed Kenny Wayne Shephard Band. Several of our friends told us that it was a great set and really got the crowd fired up for Van Halen. The night sky was just starting to dim as the band took to the stage and performed a rare classic, Light Up The Sky. We instantly knew that we were going to be in for an incredible set and they definitely proved us right. With fan favorites like Everybody Wants Some, Beautiful Girls, Woman In Love, Panama and even some surprises like In a Simple Rhyme and Dirty Movies it was a set that you could only dream about.  I was also excited to have my personal faves of Drop Dead Legs, Unchained and Ice Cream Man on the list too.
