Checkout the new video from Raggy Monster for their captivating track, Crying Shame

August 27, 2015

Alternative indie rock band Raggy Monster from West Palm Beach have released a new video for their track, Crying Shame. The song is off their sophomore album, As the thorn lures the widow’s lip, it seeks no wisdom from the Wicker Flies, which was released in December 2014. The song brings out such emotion as you are captivated by  vocalist Rachel DuVall’s hypnotic vocals. “The song was inspired by singer/keyboardist Billy Schmidt’s uncle who had been nearly paralyzed from suffering multiple strokes and the emotional weight it held on Billy’s heart. Billy’s wife and bandmate,  Rachel DuVall put these emotions to lyrics, creating a tribute to the family.”  Billy Schmidt comments on the track, “This video and song are very personal to me, being inspired by my uncle John. As a kid we visited him a couple times a year and I remember seeing the expression on his face and not being able to tell if he was full of joy or sadness. I think it was a combination of the two. He loved children, and we [Read More]

One-Eyed Doll release video of Afflicted, paying homage to Salem witch victims and catch them out on tour!

August 27, 2015

One-Eyed Doll have released their new video Afflicted where they pay homage to the Salem Witch victims. The video was directed by Patrick Kendall [Megadeth, Incubus, Theory Of A Deadman] and was shot in Danvers (formerly Salem Village), modern-day Salem, Sleepy Hollow and New York City, all in the aftermath of Winter Storm Juno. Vocalist/Guitarist Kimberly Freeman explains, “The video is a bit of fiction and history combined. The story ebbs between fantasy and reality to portray the confusion and desperation of the Salem Witchcraft Hysteria of 1692. The people of Salem Village were the captives of religious oppression, ruled by overwhelming guilt and fear. The entire album is, in fact, a concept about the subject. This particular song references (and directly quotes at times) historical court documents including the forced confession of the first person accused of witchcraft in Salem. In the preserved handwritten records from 1692, she admits signing her soul over to the devil. Several young girls of the town convulse and swear that she has afflicted them with her magic. The Afflicted music video [Read More]
