Rise Against make a stop in San Francisco at The Masonic. By Valeria Rosa

August 18, 2015

Rise Against stopped at The Masonic in San Francisco for their headlining tour. The accompanying acts included Letlive and Killswitch Engage. Singer for Letlive, Jason Aalon Butler, said many inspiring words to his fans. He made sure to make the end of his performance memorable by crowd surfing and staying in the audience to sing. Letlive is a very humble band— after the show they went to meet and talk to fans. Letlive and KIllswitch put on an outstanding show full of liveliness and head banging. They were the perfect opening acts for this tour.   As the headliner Rise Against brought out the biggest crowd. Zach Blair, lead guitarist of Rise Against, danced and jumped around the stage with so much energy. However, Zach Blair wasn’t the only one getting into the music onstage. The band’s dancing along playing their hit songs during their set made the crowd go crazy. Rise against, Letlive, and Killswitch Engage are great bands to see live. Aubrey Logan at the E-Spot Lounge: sass, jazz and heartbreak. By Patrick O’Heffernan

August 16, 2015

(Studio City, CA) Aubrey Logan was in top form Thursday night at the historical E-Spot Lounge in Studio City at the edge of Hollywood, delivering her customary sass and jazz and trombone, but she  raised the bar for herself with a voice that was more animated, more fun and more loaded with emotion than I have ever heard before in her live performances.   Logan’s website describes her as “breaking traditional genre barriers by combining jazz vocals with R&B, neo-soul, pop and a touch of rock”, which well describes her recordings but misses the power, emotion and sheer joy of what she can do on stage. She has always been at home in front of an audience, but she was bigger than life Thursday night despite the fact that the E-Spot was unplugged for the evening while the venue renewed its amplification permit.   No speakers made no difference to Logan; her voice – even at its softest and more heartbroken whisper – was clear in back in the room and her rubber-expressive face and Betty [Read More]

Hey Violet delivers an energetic solid set for their first headlining US show at Troubadour

August 16, 2015

Hey Violet have been quite busy rocking the stages with 5 Seconds of Summer this summer for the Rock Out With Your Socks Out Tour.  The highly successful tour has taken them across Europe and is currently in the US leg of the tour.  We were excited when we learned of their plans to have their first US headlining show at the Troubadour in West Hollywood. The fans were lined up early as the line circled around the block, many of them arriving several hours before doors. Fans came from all over and we even had the chance to chat with a young new singer, Bronnie of Revolution97 who traveled from London. The youthful energy and excitement was running rampant through the crowd as they filled the Troubadour to capacity. The opening act was the very talented James TW, a soulful pop singer from London. He captured the crowd’s attention and we really enjoyed his set. He carries great emotion when he performs and along with his catchy lyrics and soulful voice, he was a definite crowd pleaser. Jake Miller’s Dazed and Confused Tour, review by Valeria Rosa

August 16, 2015

Jake Miller’s Dazed and Confused Tour brought along Alex Angelo and Jasmine Villegas. Everyone in line waited for the doors to open while singing Jake Miller’s song “Dazed and Confused” in unison. The fans wrote messages, left their twitters, and numbers with sharpie on the side of the tour bus. Fans were shocked when they discovered the age of Alex Angelo at 14 years. Regardless of the fact that he was the youngest of the tour Alex Angelo put on a performance that brought the crowd to their feet. Especially when he played his latest single “Turn Me Up”. Jasmine Villegas performed in support of her latest EP “That’s Me Right There”. Villegas never failed to show love right back to her fans. Before the show began she took the time to take pictures with fans outside the venue. Jasmine Villegas, her dancers, and her brother put on a performance that truly brought the crowd together. Jake Miller had a lot to do with the line of screaming fans that wrapped all the way around [Read More]

Interview with fire-driven rockers, Red Sky Mary as they stopped in San Francisco

August 12, 2015

Last year we featured an awesome new band, Red Sky Mary from New Hampshire and we have been anxiously awaiting their arrival on the West Coast. Well last week, they made a stop at the DNA Lounge in San Francisco for the Smokin Hot Tour with Texas Hippie Coalition. We made sure we we were not going to miss them. They blew us with their signature sound that fuses 70’s classic rock with modern hard rock and a flash of blues.  They have energy, charisma, smoking guitar riffs, and vocals that will have you in lust with them! We had the chance to chat with the band shortly before their set at the DNA Lounge and you can check it out here:   They rocked the crowd and played our favorites from their debut album, River Child which was released earlier this year on Carved Records. You can pick up their new album on iTunes here. Here are some photos by our Rockin Ryan of their set at the DNA: We are already hoping they [Read More]
