Marie-Claire Berreen & Her Husbands returns with a touching new video

December 8, 2015

One of my favorite angelic voice has returned! UK Folk rockers Marie-Claire Berreen & Her Husbands have just released a beautiful new video for their song, Come Home. Once again, y ou are greeted with the warm sweet vocals of Marie-Claire that embrace you in a comforting hug.  “Come Home was inspired by the view of a North Welsh harbour. The song is filled with emotion and imagery, of losing someone and yearning for their return, which inspired the story telling nature of the video. The aerial footage was taken at the harbour and then overlaid with scenes created by artists at Worcester Snoezelen, an independent charity which offers multi-sensory and creative activities for people with disabilities.” Check out the amazing video here: You can check out some behind the scenes photos and how they made this creative video by visiting:  http://mcbandhh.squarespace.com/making-the-video. Barb Wire Dolls blow the roof of DNA Lounge with their recent performance in SF.

December 7, 2015

The bad ass punk rockers Barb Wire Dolls are just about to perform their last show in USA tomorrow night at the legendary Whisky A GoGo. They will be heading back to Greece to work on new music for 2016.  We were so glad we had the chance to catch them Friday night at the Above DNA Lounge in San Francisco. We were not going to miss them and made sure we arrived early to catch all the opening bands. The night kicked off with a highly energetic punk infused rock set by Year of The Fist. They are from Oakland and I look forward to catching them again. They started the night off with fierce energy! Next up was a Bay Area band that I have been waiting to see, Modern Kicks. These young guys brought the rock and roll spirit to the crowd with a much needed dose of old school rock and punk attitude. Hold on tight, they are ready to take you for a wild ride. The night continued on with a [Read More]

Gaby Moreno at Hollywood Forever: an early Christmas gift to Los Angeles. By Patrick O’Heffernan

December 7, 2015

(Hollywood) A Gaby Moreno concert is like a family celebration with music – stunning, soaring, shining joyful music. All of that was on display at the auditorium of the Hollywood Forever Cemetery when Gaby Moreno sang Christmas songs for standing room only crowd of very, very happy fans. Moreno’s huge bright eyes, flashing smile and ever present twinkling tiara shown out over a forest of cellphone cameras and adorning faces. This was familia and it was Christmas…a jubilant, ringing, rocking unforgettable Christmas. The waves of love that flowed from the seats as Moreno walked from the back of the hall to her waiting band on stage were palpable, and she sent the love back in equal measure. From the opening lines of “Pesces en el Rio” to the final shimmering notes of her encore, Moreno happily delivered carols in English, Spanish and German from her new album Posada with the blues, rock, folk and pure delight she is loved for. The gift she brought Saturday night was generous – 15 songs, plus an encore, plus [Read More]
