Candlebox returns to San Francisco for stellar set at Slim’s

April 18, 2016

The multi-platinum rockers Candlebox have returned to San Francisco for a stop on their Disappearing In Airports tour. They played at Slim’s on Saturday night and it was a packed house!  They are touring in support of their highly anticipated album, Disappearing in Airports, which is set for an April 22nd release. The night kicked off with a great set by Peter RG as he got the crowd ready to rock and you will see a couple Candlebox members in Peter RG. Next up was the insanely energetic Lullwater. We caught them last year out on tour with Butcher Babies and Amaranthe and it was great to see them raise the roof off Slim’s. The crowd was filled to what must have been capacity as there was no room to move about as Candlebox hit the stage. Everyone wanted to be up front for their incredible set. They were amazing and their sound was timeless as many longtime fans found themselves back in the ’90s singing all of their favorites.  What was quite impressive [Read More]

Concert Review Neck Deep with WSTR and Creeper at the Strom

April 17, 2016

Munich, April 11th, 2016 It was an all English evening last Monday. When we got to the venue about 30 minutes before doors there weren’t that many people already waiting outside, so we were curious how many would show up that night. Turned out, the club was pretty packed…. WSTR were the first to hit the stage. Their set was very well received. The Liverpool based band released their EP last year September. Check it out. If you like Neck Deep, you’ll like them too. Second opener were Creeper. They just recently released an EP ‚The Stranger‘ not that long ago. They definitely brought along some fans to that show. There were quite a few people already singing along to their songs. It’s been their first time in Germany, but I’m sure it won’t be their last. Neck Deep, the headliner of the night, really tore the place apart. Or should I say their fans did? From the first tunes to the last note the crowd jumped, staged dived and sang along to each and [Read More]

BottleRock Napa Featured Band of the Day is The Pharcyde

April 15, 2016

Today our BottleRock Napa Featured Band of the Day is The Pharcyde. BottleRock Napa has always done an excellent job at bringing together a variety of music styles and genres with the success of creating new fans for each band playing. We are excited that The Pharcyde will be bringing their hip hop energy to the Midway Stage. Their long time history will be bringing plenty of fans to watch them bring their rap game to new heights at BottleRock. In the early 90’s, when gangsta’ rap consumed the airwaves, and the majority of West Coast rappers strapped on their Locs, Chuck Taylor’s & Ben Davis’, The Pharcyde decidedly maintained a willfully weird vision. Opting to stay true to themselves with their left field but still South-Central sensibility, rap had seen few groups so self-deprecating and so smart, four visionary rappers adroitly able to split the difference between helium-voiced and hard-core. Listening to “Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde” two full decades after its release, its sense of timeliness is unmistakable. Every song on the album inverts [Read More]
