Interview with Eddie Veliz of Kyng as we discuss their new album, Breathe In The Water

October 30, 2016

Kyng returned to the Regency Ballroom this past Sunday night as they kicked off a night of high energy rock/metal in San Francisco. They are currently out on tour with Clutch and Zakk Sabbath and we were excited to catch them once again. This powerful trio delivers a powerful dose of energy when they hit the stage. You have Eddie Veliz on Vocals/Guitar, Pepe Clarke on Drums and Tony Castaneda on Bass/Backing Vocals. From start to finish, they are at 11 the entire time and they crank up the intensity with fierce riffs, thundering drums and melodic yet heavy vocals. Their energy is inescapable as they bring the truth and honesty back into rock, simple yet completely powerful. Check out some photos of their set by our Rockin Ryan: They have recently released their new album, Breathe In The Water, which I think is their best work to date.  So full of raw, honest, powerful hard and heavy rock and metal. It can’t be described as one genre, since they successfully bring out a variety of musical [Read More]

October 29, 2016

Today our featured artist is Survival Guide.  Survival Guide is from our nearby town of Petaluma, CA and in 2014 was named one of the Top 12 Bay Area Bands by San Francisco’s premier rock radio station, Live 105. It features California vocalist and keyboardist Emily Whitehurst.  Her music truly captures your attention as she brings to life her powerful vocals that awakens your senses. Survival Guide recently released a new compelling video for One To One.  On the song and new music video, Whitehurst says, “The lyrics describe the way there are two sides to every relationship. As a twist, we (Jim Agius and Tim Rose of Dogfilm and I) decided to make the video show how there may be a side of the relationship that’s hidden. Our main goal was to make the viewer feel creeped out by leaving my character in the dark. It reminds me of an old “don’t open that door!” type film. Funnily enough, I actually did feel a little creeped out seeing that roomful of photos — Jim found every one [Read More]
