Korn delivers EPIC set out on the must-see Serenity of Summer Tour

June 23, 2017

Last night The Serenity of Summer Tour made a stop in Mountain View at the Shoreline Amphitheater. It was a night fueled by high energy sets from Islander, Baby Metal, Yelawolf, Stone Sour and KORN. We will be featuring individual posts highlighting each set. Of course, we must start off with the high energy kick ass set of KORN as they headline the tour. Before they hit the stage, it was a packed audience in the amphitheater.  The crowd was growing with anticipation as a black sheet draped the stage. Once the music started, the crowds erupted in screams and cheers, the drape dropped and KORN was fulling taking over the stage. It was amazing to hear how loud the audience grew as they performed. The sound was incredible as they performed a flawless set, including fan favorites as well as songs off their latest album, The Serenity of Suffering. Check out photos from their set by our Rockin Ryan:   Korn also recently released a music video for their song, Black Is The Soul: [Read More]

Shatterproof release new video for their track Karma, off upcoming self titled EP

June 23, 2017

Perfect way to kick off the weekend, we have the new music video from Shatterproof. The video is for their bad ass track, Karma. It is the  next single off their upcoming self titled EP which is set for a July 21st release.  The music video for “Karma” directed and produced by Hudson Bloom, is “the classic Mariah Carey, revenge-breakup song,” continuing the band says, “It’s about being cheated on and taking things into your own hands. This story is developed further in the actual music video for the song. A girl breaks up with Benji in the first scene. Instead of being down about it, he channels this energy into his music. The girl slowly makes her way from one band member to the next, breaking all of our hearts and eventually becoming a sort of fake mythology for how the band started. Each member joins this band and bonds over being cheated-on by the girl.”     Shatterproof has been on our highlight bands these days, as they blew us away [Read More]

A Will Away release video for their new single, Gravity off their debut album

June 23, 2017

Alternative rockers A Will Away release video for their new track, Gravity which is off their debut full-length album Here Again.  The video for ‘Gravity” was directed by Eric Teti and Sam Gursky and filmed in one of the studios at Drexel University. ‘Gravity’ symbolizes the things in life people can’t control, so the band decided to film in black and white to represent the dark, dream-like experience that is life’s uncontrolled forces, as well as shooting in double speed to created a slowed, lagging sensation.   Vocalist and guitarist Matt said regarding the video, “It uses gravity (the force of nature) as the most concrete representation of our human lack of control in the universe. Gravity keeps us tethered to the Earth, it allows us to live, allowed us to evolve from cells to thinking beings, allows us an atmosphere in which we can breathe. If we pay it more attention, we may notice that gravity tells us how small we are to the rest of the universe.” Watch the video here:   You can catch [Read More]

Check out the news on the video released by Los Angeles Among Savages: Los Angeles’ Among Savages releases the stunning video for the “If You See Her” single and announces the release of their new album Accounts of Friend and Foe slated for 7/21. Among Savages is an evolving musical about one man’s coming to terms with the trials and treasures of a fading youth. Barbee recalls the day of the shoot for “If You See Her” with a feeling of immense gratitude. Filmmaker Casey Brooks pitched the idea for the video and introduced Barbee to choreographer Dana Foglia.  Foglia, best known for her work with Beyonce, had been the subject of a documentary Brooks was working on, and Barbee jumped at the chance to collaborate.  Barbee recalls entering the studio and  “…fumbling through a few thank you’s to a room full [Read More]

Gaby Moreno and Caloncho create a magical night at Grand Performances 2017

June 22, 2017

Patrick O’Heffernan LOS ANGELES. Gaby Moreno and  Caloncho created a magical night Saturday at Grand Performances in California Plaza in downtown Los Angeles.  About 2000 people filled the two-level sunken plaza,  facing a sparkling pond in front of the expansive stage, backed by dancing water spouts and skyscrapers sporting the projected Grand Performances logo.  Lights twinkled all around, families opened picnic baskets or  queued up at the restaurants surrounding the Plaza and the bars in the Plaza.  They settled into chairs or brought their own while the sun went down, auguring the arrival of música especial.   Accompanied by urban sound effects, Caloncho and his band filtered on stage, plugged in and took their positions.  The party was on as the Sonoran-born, Guadalajara-based singer songwriter kicked it off with his soothing summer night anthems of soft tempos and Latin indie-dream pop, animated by a very active trombone/keyboard player who added not only notes, but humor.  At one point, the fans’ heroine, Guatemalan-born LA-based Latin Grammy winner Gaby Moreno joined Caloncho, eliciting applause so loud [Read More]
