The Hip Abduction release inspiring and soul-enriching new indie alt/pop track

July 17, 2018

We all have those moments where it is just ourselves and our self-doubt retracing our steps and decisions of every day. In these vulnerable moments where you can so easily spiral into a tunnel of weakness, you need to put on the new single by The Hip Abduction. It will truly inspire you and fill you with strength to squelch those doubts and fears.   Vocalist and Guitarist David New comments about the new song, ““Can You Feel It” is about dealing with self-doubt during those critical moments that ultimately define who we become. Should you follow your heart or will you be guided by the voices in your head, discouraged by others opinions, social norms, and the fear of the unknown? Ultimately, it’s you who has to forever live with your endeavors and decisions (art, relationships, career, etc..) so we should make damn sure it comes from the gut.”  Take a listen to the new track here:   About the band: Sometimes inspiration strikes from the immersion of living in a far away place. CONCERT REVIEW: Static and Surrender ‘Electrifies’ @ Hollywood’s Hotel Café

July 17, 2018

Written by Jessica Klausing Bay area rockers Static and Surrender are on tour throughout California in honor of their debut album release. Their energetic riffs and rhythms are on par with the alternative superstar acts such as Lifehouse and Matchbox Twenty. Jeff Campbell (lead vocals, guitar) backed by John Schuman (drums), Adam Schuman (guitar, vocals), and Lauren Stockner (bass player) delivered a passionate performance at Hollywood’s Hotel Café. Jeff Campbell puts his heart into each song and it certainly shows. He kept the set running smoothly and without interruption for the majority of the night. Opening up with “Killing The Vibe” Campbell belts a powerful vocal delivery that commands the attention in a room while his band mates exerted lighting-in-a-bottle energy around the small stage with ease. With such a strong reaction from the crowd, the level of energy and intensity only grew with each song.  The next song, “If Only We Could Sleep” was no exception.  John Schuman pounded the drums as if his very life depended on it! His intensity was so great, [Read More]

Check out their track, Severed which is off the album, About the new album, As busy as they have been, the band felt a need to shake things up. “On the last record,” says Meloy, “there were moments when I thought I was making familiar choices. I tried to be mindful in the songwriting process of challenging myself and being a little more critical. The idea was, how can we make unfamiliar choices, turn off the light a little and grope around in the dark a bit?” Previous Decemberists’ records like The Hazards of Love or The Crane Wife have been structured around thematic or musical concepts, though Meloy maintains that ultimately, it’s always “our frame of mind that ties them together.” This time, [Read More]

July 11, 2018

Allow me to introduce you to Polartropica, the music endeavor of Los Angeles based, whimsical space-pop artist, Ihui (eeway) Cherise Wu. She was born in Taiwan and raised in California and her style is the perfect combination J-pop meets bubblegum psych pop. her music blends together quirky pop melodies, futuristic synths and classical string arrangements. You may think that is quite a mix, but take a listen and you will agree, it works!! Polartropica has just released a cinematic yet whimsical video for her new song, Golden Soul. ‘The video details interior struggles and how with compassion for one another and understanding our differences, there can be healing.’  It features mesmerizing dreamlike vocals, swirling electro pop and engaging J-pop characteristics. You are immediately drawn into the story and then the music takes over and has you hooked. The video was directed, filmed and edited by White Sitar – Grant White, Sam Sitar.
