EXCLUSIVE: Get your fix of Rare Americans and their infectious new video for Two Lives

July 23, 2019

Vancouver BC based alternative rock  band, Rare Americans are set to capture your attention. The alt rock band was started by brothers James and Jared Priestner. It started by brothers James and Jared Priestner taking a trip to the Caribbean in the spring of 2017. Having never written a song together, James thought it might be a fun vacation activity to do and suggest it to Jared. Being a big-thinker, Jared said “A song? Fuck that, why don’t we write an album?” They laughed in the moment but sure enough ten days later the first 15 Rare Americans songs were born. The band is rounded out by long-time collaborator and guitarist Lubo Ivan, who grew up in the sticks of Slovakia and finally just got his Canadian PR after two long years of battling the Canadian government. On bass is Jeff Quinn. When you take a listen, you would think the band had a long history of writing songs. They deliver music that brings to life stories enveloped in catchy tunes that are soon [Read More]

Dropkick Murphys announce tour dates for early 2020

July 1, 2019

The band was founded in 1996 in Boston. They are, so to say, the legitimate successor of the british Pogues. A bit more punk and a bit rougher than the british group around the singer Shane MacGowan, that made Irish-Punk-Rock more socially acceptable in the 80’s. All the more fitting, that McGowan himself also sang for the Dropkick Murphys. They started their career in Boston, where St. Patrick’s Day has a similar significance than in Ireland itself. It’s only logical that the Dropkick Murphys play live at big festivals there. In 2006 the band was introduced to a larger audience, when their song ‘I’m Shipping Up to Boston’ was released on the soundtrack of Martin Scorseses movie ‘Departed’. Their latest record is called ’11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory’. It’s their 9th record and it landed some respectable chart positions so far. As always, it’s recommendable to get your tickets early, because they are usually selling fast. In the next few weeks a highclass support act will be announced. So keep your eyes [Read More]
