Check out the new video from AZRA for her inspiring personal new track, Right Here

November 14, 2019

Independent substance pop artist AZRA is set to release her powerful and personal new song, Right Here. The song captivates the emotion that AZRA brings to life through her music. She is premiering a video for the inspiring new track. Directed by Ezra Bassin-Hill, the music video is an intimate take on the personal, piano-driven song featured on AZRA’s debut EP, Freedom. Inspired by the resilience of trees AZRA explains, “I wrote this song when I was reflecting on very vulnerable times with my music. Since I was a child I always loved to perform music but there were unforeseen challenges throughout the years like a teacher telling me to give up a lead role in elementary school and having to stop performing in college when I had emergency eye surgery for juvenile glaucoma.” She continues, “However, I realized that all of those challenges actually made me stronger and more resilient to succeed in any tough situation. Just like a tree that weathers the storm, its roots become more embedded in the ground and its bark tougher. I wanted [Read More]

NEW VIDEO: Hard rockers Year of the Locust release lyric video for “Sorry”

November 14, 2019

Hard rockers Year of the Locust have just released a lyric video for their track,Sorry. The song is off their 2019 self titled EP. About the song and video, Their new lyric video single, “Sorry,” is a redemption song; “If you listen hard you will hear Brett Hestla’s voice in the background. You’ll also hear an EBow. Brian Bond’s used it to create an eerie background. The song was kind of a wildcard. We knew we had 3 solid tracks on the E.P. So, we took a chance and built Sorry right on the spot, with a heavy riff we had experimented with only one time. I just started speaking the lyrics in the studio and it worked. Things got really deep in the studio when I sang the last line of the second verse. It was definitely a memorable moment. It took Brett a few weeks to send us the final version. He felt compelled to add a guitar overlay in the chorus and we were blown away. Not just because we loved what [Read More]

The success of Binx: a case study in hard work, persistence and talent.

November 14, 2019

By Patrick O’Heffernan   It is no secret that hard work and persistence are just as important as talent for success in today’s music world. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of very talented singers, musicians, and bands playing weekends in small clubs all over the country while they focus on their jobs during the week.  Some, like the Wohl Band from Guadalajara, will succeed beyond weekend gigs, but most of them will move on in their profession and music will remain a weekend pleasure for them and their audiences. The artists that succeed are the ones who are not only superbly talented but spend almost every waking moment (and some sleeping moments) writing, arranging, playing, performing and recording music. They find a day job in the music industry that lets them learn, connect, and grow musically as well as pay the bills. They work to take – or create – every opportunity to introduce new audiences to their talent, and to hone and grow their art and expand their fan base as they [Read More]
