We Came As Romans share video for their new song “Darkbloom”

July 17, 2021

We Came As Romans – Joshua Moore [guitar], Dave Stephens [vocals], Lou Cotton [guitar], Andy Glass [bass], and David Puckett [drums] – have shared the video for their brand new single “Darkbloom”. With sharp synths and riffs that could chip that paint off the wall, “Darkbloom” represents the next chapter for WCAR. In Fall 2019, the band shared two new tracks: “From the First Note” and “Carry the Weight”. These songs marked the first material the band released after singer Kyle Pavone’s tragic passing in August 2018. “The idea behind ‘Darkbloom’ is that even through the darkest, most difficult times of life, there is still the potential, or possibility, of personal growth” says Moore “As long as we’re not willing to completely concede to the negative emotion or thought that feels like it has taken over, then we can be strong enough to overcome and push through to a different future. This song is about having the mind to be able to acknowledge the reality of situations we’re in, but having the strength to weather [Read More]

The Bottom Line release brand new single “Long Time Coming”

July 17, 2021

It’s been a “Long Time Coming” since the band’s last release, but The Bottom Line are back with a huge new single in the form of “Long Time Coming”. Kickstarting a new era with a refreshed but familiar sound, The Bottom Line have created a track that will be ingrained in your brain within seconds. The pacey and upbeat track has been left open for interpretation and has grown its own meaning since its initial inception pre-pandemic. Reunited with producer Romesh Dodangoda, The Bottom Line jumped into the Marshall Studio to carry on where they left off after the “No Vacation” session back in 2018, creating a track that is bouncy and captivating. Commenting on the track, Vocalist Cal Amies says: “It’s a bit of a weird one to say exactly what ‘Long Time Coming’ is written about as when we first started the writing process it was before the pandemic. We had been let down by a few people and even felt like we’d been advantage of in some cases. Over the recording process [Read More]

Trashboat release new single “Bad Entertainment”

July 8, 2021

One of the UK’s quickest rising bands, Trash Boat, released their newest track “Bad Entertainment” featuring spitfire vocalist/bassist Milkie Way of the up and coming metalcore duo WARGASM via Hopeless Records today. Fans can stream “Bad Entertainment (Feat. Milkie Way)” now at https://smarturl.it/BadEntertainment Frontman Tobi Duncan shares this on the meaning of today’s release: “Media these days seems to be dead set on constructing a binary rather than accurately representing current events. It’s a divisive means of forcing people to make a choice between one extreme or the other. In or out, us or them. It’s so easily curated and it knows it’s audience. It’s an entertainment medium like any other, driven by ratings, views and money. You watch one channel, read one paper and have one ‘understanding’ of the goings on in the world, not knowing that it has been hand crafted to fit a specific ethos and keep you compliant. Gone are the days (if they ever existed) of objectivity, there’s too much nuance in the world for any one person to truly [Read More]

Dying Wish announce debut album “Fragments Of A Bitter Memory”

July 8, 2021

Dying Wish is the Portland-based blistering hardcore five-piece whose passionate music fuses New Wave of American Heavy Metal and chaos-driven punk noises. Late last year, they signed to SharpTone Records and today, have announced the release of their forthcoming record, “Fragments of a Bitter Memory” which will be released on October 1, 2021 via their new label home. Pre-orders are available now here. To celebrate the announcement, Dying Wish has released the record’s title track “Fragments of a Bitter Memory”. On the deeply personal new single, lead vocalist Emma Boster shares: “‘Fragments’ starts by taking the listener back to my first memory. I was five years old and I was the flower girl at my mother’s wedding. My biological father wasn’t in my life and the man she was marrying took a vow to fill that void. Over the next decade I watched that same man who I had learned to call my father become a violent alcoholic. By the time I was a young teen I was being verbally and physically abused by him [Read More]

Lurk announce debut LP “Around The Sun”

July 8, 2021

Chicago, IL’s most inventive punks, Lurk, have announced their debut full-length, “Around The Sun”. Due out September 17th from Pure Noise Records, “Around The Sun” finds Lurk coming into a sound that is truly their own. The album is a whirlwind blend of proto-punk eccentricity, new wave swagger, and hardcore ferocity that’s as unique as it is instantly appealing. Lurk have also shared the album’s first single “Crack A Smile” an unapologetically hook-heavy rager with a massive chorus that’s guaranteed to brighten your day. It’s Lurk’s freakout vision of a feel-good summer hit that doubles as a perfect introduction to Around The Sun’s defiant embrace of life’s absurdity. Made up of vocalist Kevin Kiley, drummer Pedro Unzueta, bassist Dan Durley, and guitarists Alex Rackow and Kevin Maida, Lurk was formed out of a desire to tap into the infinite possibilities and unrestrained weirdness of punk rock. “We wanted to do something that was sort of ‘Ramones meets Devo meets B52s meets The Cramps,” explains Kiley. “A lot of those older bands could be pretty [Read More]
