Gloo share new single “Swimming In Your Sea”

July 31, 2021

UK three-piece Gloo shared another new single “Swimming In Your Sea”, taken from their upcoming second record “How Not To Be Happy”, out August 27th via Hassle Records. Listen to the new song here. Speaking on the new song the band said “Gloo’s aim has always been to help people escape, whilst at the same time evolving with each release we put out. This song for us does exactly that, but this time proudly showcasing our other inspirations with a slightly more laid-back cocktail whilst still giving you enough distortion to smash your glass when the chorus comes. “The writing of ‘Swimming In Your Sea’ was one of them rare and insane times where the song was written from start to finish in about half an hour! I (Tom) was actually kind of drifting in and out of a film and fucking around on the guitar playing the main riff from ‘Serve the Servants’ by Nirvana when I changed it out of boredom and suddenly my ear perked up with this new modified version I [Read More]

Spiritbox release beautiful acoustic version of their hit song “Constance (Acoustic)”

July 27, 2021

Spiritbox, one of this year’s hottest and fastest rising bands, have today announced the release of “Constance (Acoustic)”, a stunning and beautiful acoustic version of their 2020 hit “Constance”. The reimagined version of the song was recorded in a church with accompaniment from a string trio earlier this year in conjunction with The Grammy Museum COLLECTION:live in partnership with BMG. Watch the full performance and an interview here. Here’s the accompanying visualizer: Speaking on the process of reimagining the track for an acoustic session, Spiritbox guitarist, Mike Stringer, shares “This live version of Constance was a very ambitious project for us. Before we left to start recording Eternal Blue, I had a rough demo of an acoustic version of Constance written. While we were tracking the album, the Grammy Museum asked us if we’d want to contribute to their “Collection:Live” series with a live acoustic/stringed composition of the song. Of course this was a huge honor for us and something we couldn’t turn down, but it posed a challenge as we were recording in the [Read More]

Real Friends release reimagined version of their brand-new singles “Nervous Wreck” & “Storyteller”

July 27, 2021

Illinois-based quintet Real Friends recently announced a new chapter of the band with new singles “Nervous Wreck” and “Storyteller” and today, they have released stunning reimagined versions showcasing the voice of new singer Cody Muraro. “When the idea of making reimagined versions of songs have come up in the past, we’ve always just made acoustic versions. This time around we changed it up by experimenting with different elements that normally aren’t used in Real Friends songs. It was refreshing and fun to step outside of our comfort zone, instead of just stripping a song down to acoustic guitar and vocals.” says Kyle Fasel. The reimagined version of Nervous Wreck is a perfect late night drive song. For this one, we leaned more into electronic beats, clean guitar tones and Cody’s softer vocal side. It brings a whole new perspective to the song sonically. The reimagined version of Storyteller is our nod to Death Cab For Cutie. From the drum tones to the piano, I’m really proud of this one. The way we relied more on [Read More]
