Reef release new single “Shoot Me Your Ace”

November 23, 2021

Following a run of outstanding summer festival appearances, Glastonbury rockers Reef announce the release of their new single “Shoot Me Your Ace”, produced by former Duran Duran / Power Station guitarist Andy Taylor. The band’s new single “Shoot Me Your Ace” is a joyful blast of raw soul-power, this no-holds-barred, uptempo rock’n’rollacoaster of a record is accompanied by a death-defying video shot in the middle of motorcycle stunt show Demon Dromes’ notorious Wall of Death. Lead singer Gary Stringer comments: “As a rock song ‘Shoot Me Your Ace’ just works. It’s immediate. We opened with it at the festivals this summer and everyone gets it straight away. When you have a blinding rock song like this, you need an adrenaline-fuelled video, so to work with the folk at Demon Drome was spectacular. Their skill and bravery really adds to the excitement of the song”.  And what a song! Stringer’s signature raspy vocals soaring forward over Jack Bessant’s similarly infectious, driving bass. Add to this the dual guitars of Jesse Wood and producer/ honorary member Andy [Read More]

Puppy have released new single and video for “The Kiss”

November 15, 2021

The mighty PUPPY return with a brand new single and video “The Kiss”, released through Rude Records today, November 15th. It’s release follows a world-exclusive first play last night with the Radio 1 Rock Show, presented by Daniel P Carter (listen back to that whole show – HERE). Written and produced by the band, singer/guitarist Jock Norton explains a little bit about the song: “‘The Kiss’ actually and came out of songwriting sessions for our first album “The Goat”. For whatever reason it was left by the wayside, but when we started recording new material across the last year or so we decided to try laying down a proper version of it just to see how it would sound (and because we were too lazy to come up with any new songs). What we ended up with sounded way better than the acoustic version Billy had on his phone from 4 years ago, so at a vote of 2 to 1 (sorry Bill) we decided to release the new one. We hope you enjoy it”. [Read More]

We Came As Romans share new video for “Daggers”

November 14, 2021

We Came As Romans just wrapped its successful To Plant a Seed anniversary tour with countless sold-out shows. Last week they shared a new video for the song “Dagger” feat. Zero 9:36. “‘Daggers’ was the song on the record that was written, and rewritten, over and over again”, the band offers. “It was a wild ride of us just trying to create a song that sounded unlike something we’ve done before — a new journey for the listener that they weren’t used to hearing from us. We couldn’t think of a better way to do that than to introduce an entire verse of Zero, and try to make a genre-connecting bridge”. The band continues, “Lyrically, ‘Daggers’ is about that inner battle that we all go through — the talks you have with yourself about whether or not you’re good enough, smart enough, or just enough in general. The lyrics are about conquering that battle, being able to emerge victorious and be sure about your self worth and your value as a person. With the acknowledgement [Read More]

Drug Church announce new album “Hygiene” and share two new songs

November 14, 2021

Everyone’s favorite punk rock agitators, Drug Church, have returned! Today the band has announced their highly anticipated fourth full-length, “Hygiene”, due out March 11th from Pure Noise Records. Drug Church is one of the most singular bands in modern guitar music and on “Hygiene” the band’s uncompromising nature has resulted in a bold leap forward. The Albany and Los Angeles-based five-piece—vocalist Patrick Kindlon, guitarists Nick Cogan and Cory Galusha, bassist Pat Wynne, and drummer Chris Villeneuve—have a unique ability to make distinctly outsider music that’s also welcoming and instantly satisfying, as evidenced by “Hygiene”‘s lead singles “Million Miles of Fun” and “Detective Lieutenant“. The two songs represent the essential tension between overt melody and visceral aggression that fuels Drug Church—the former pushing the band’s seamless blend of hardcore bite and massive, ’90s-indebted hooks to its most anthemic point, while the latter shows off a level of tunefulness never before seen in their catalog. Hygiene follows Drug Church’s 2018 LP, “Cheer”, and their 2021 EP, “Tawny”, both of which drew acclaim from fans and critics [Read More]

Thousand Thoughts share music video for “Fail Me”

November 13, 2021

Following the release of their brand new single “Fail Me” featuring Finnish alternative rock vocalist Susanna Alexandra of Cyan Kicks, London based Thousand Thoughts have dropped their accompanying music video. Recorded at the Marshall Studio with the help of Rhys Fletcher, Thousand Thoughts continue to evolve their mix of nostalgic nu-metal, melodic metalcore, and anthemic modern rock in “Fail Me”. Ethan Smith talked about the track, explaining: “‘Fail Me’ was written during the winter of the pandemic, and it describes the general state of the world and my desire to run away from everything. Life can be so difficult; running often seems like the easier option. I’ll always persevere through the fight, but I believe the thought of running shows up in all of us sometimes, no matter how strong we are. When initially writing the track, I pictured a woman singing it and as the song progressed, I began to see it working with Thousand Thoughts. However, it still needed that artist I’d imagined to bring it to life. We’re really excited to have [Read More]
