Kingsmen drop brand-new single/video “Trial By Fire”

March 24, 2022

Providence, RI quintet, Kingsmen, have dropped bombastic new single and accompanying music video – “Trial By Fire” today via Sharptone Records. Exhibiting a slight stylistic shift from the band’s previous output, the new track exhibits arena-conquering riffing and a phenomenally catchy-but-powerful vocal, courtesy of the clean stylings of frontman Tanner Guimond. Speaking on “Trial By Fire”, Kingsmen frontman Tanner Guimond shares: “‘Trial By Fire’ was created after we took a full band trip to Gettysburg the day before entering the studio. In December 2020, the world and especially our country seemed extremely divided and tense. Learning about our history and understanding what our past generations of brave men and women endured gave us hope for our future. With that hope, we had an idea. We wanted to create a son generations of brave men and women endured gave us hope for our future. With that hope, we had an idea. We wanted to create a son that speaks about tension and how tough times can lead to a better future if we can all find [Read More]

The Waterboys share new single “Here We Go Again”

March 24, 2022

The Waterboys have released the video for their new single ‘Here We Go Again’ – the third preview of their new album ‘All Souls Hill’, out May 6th on Cooking Vinyl. The album follows the critically acclaimed ‘ Good Luck Seeker” from 2020. “Here We Go Again” is a rousing singalong whose freshness belies the lyrical subject matter. “It’s the idea that we have a groundhog day together. We all look at the headlines, but no one seems to learn the lesson,” Mike Scott said of the track. “As a culture, we keep making the same mistakes. It’s an ironic look at the people who aren’t that smart – and yet I have a lot of fun being one.” Late 2021 saw the release of the first song from the new album, “The Liar,” a graphic jab at political charlatanry, and “All Souls Hill” is another punch to the gut, with haunting imagery from the New York Public Library archive, where each painting illustrates a couplet from the incredible text of this string-dominated, lilting masterpiece. MNYS releases acoustic version of his single “Backseat”

March 24, 2022

Prolific writer and platinum-selling producer Nick Cozine otherwise known as MNYS has released an acoustic version of the MTV-supported “Backseat”. “‘Backseat’ was written on my first ever trip to Nashville” says MNYS. “It’s about a conflicted relationship. There are people that come in and out of your life and for various reasons the bond may go separate ways. ‘Backseat’ is about that struggle of once being so close with someone and now not even on talking terms. There’s no ill will – you’ve just grown apart. ‘What happens when we die?’ – is metaphorically speaking about the relationship itself. We just become memories of one another. Nor sad or happy, just what it is”. MNYS has spent a decade working on other artist projects, most recently he wrote “Thought It Was” for Iann Dior featuring MGK & Travis Barker. This new chapter of music will have listeners embracing MNYS whilst he takes you on a ride of rollercaster of emotions, bridging the gap between the indie / Alt-Pop world. MNYS previously released the singles ‘Night [Read More]

Alongside the EP announcement comes Waxflower’s brand new single ‘The Drama Scene’ – a nostalgic sum of the electronic elements delved into on ‘Soak’, met with the 00s pop-rock elements of ‘Ring’. Speaking to the track’s theme, frontman Tristan Higginson reveals: “‘The Drama Scene’ is a reflection of my social life at the time. There was just so much negativity swirling around, and I was contributing to that. I was generally unhappy, the song is me airing out some of the agitation I had with where my own actions were placing me. The song is mostly the same as the demo, with exception of the second verse which ended up a more DnB style effort.
