Jerry Cantrell releases animated video for “Siren Song”

March 18, 2022

As he gets ready to hit the road, Iconic singer, songwriter, guitarist, and Alice In Chains co-founder Jerry Cantrell releases the animated video for “Siren Song”, off of his most recent album “Brighten”. Bloody Disgusting exclusively premiered the new video saying: “The new animated video, directed and animated by Nate Merritt, shows a western-themed fantasy world that could be a trip through the mind of the songwriter but can also be interpreted by the viewer as a metaphor for life’s challenges: work, love, and loss mixed with the beauty of a life well-lived. Lots of easter eggs for Jerry fans but also fun and haunting video for the song itself, rife with wildlife, wilderness, and wandering travelers”. Jerry spent most of late 2021 celebrating the release of “Brighten”, including performing an intimate showcase of the songs at “An Evening With Jerry Cantrell” at the Grammy Museum in LA. Watch the live performance of “Brighten” HERE. Jerry co-produced “Brighten” with film composer Tyler Bates [300, John Wick] and long-time Engineer Paul Fig. Reflecting a classic spirit, [Read More]

Sunsleeper share newest single “In The Clouds”

March 16, 2022

Indie rock outfit Sunsleeper have shared their new single and music video “In The Clouds” via Rude Records. Dripping with a 90’s inspired alt-rock feel, the track envelopes moments with the mist of nostalgia and the power of dreaming. “I have a tendency of getting stuck in my head, recounting all the things I wish were different,” shares vocalist Jeffery Mudgett on the new track. “Due to the nature of the pandemic and the civil unrest of 2020, many people’s true colors bubbled to the surface. I found myself longing for simpler times a lot while processing the stark shift in many of my relationships during that timeframe. This song recounts the realization that many people I held in high esteem in my life ended up not being the people I thought they were, including myself”. Sunsleeper was halfway through the touring cycle for their debut album when the pandemic halted live music. For the Salt Lake City indie rockers, that pause allowed them to reframe what their journey as musicians and people inspires them [Read More]

Nova Twins release new single “Cleopatra”

March 16, 2022

Today, genre-bending heavy alt-rock duo Nova Twins (guitarist/vocalist Amy Love and bassist Georgia South) have released their new single “Cleopatra”, an electro-rock rush of intent that sees these fierce ladies declare: “Wouldn’t wanna be anyone but me – I’m the fucking queen”. It’s a blast of confidence born of social unrest and a standout track at the band’s recent sold-out shows. The track is the latest single off their upcoming album “Supernova”, due out June 17th via Marshall Records. “‘Cleopatra’ was written off the back of the Black Lives Matter protests. Attending them made us feel powerful as two mixed-race women in an era where people were suddenly waking up to Anti Racists conversations”, says Love. “It’s about celebrating who we are and being proud of where we come from. We hope this song encourages people from all walks of life to act and feel the same way too”. 2022 has already been a landmark year for Nova Twins. Greyhaven share new track “Ornaments From The Well”

March 15, 2022

Louisville, KY band Greyhaven shared their chilling new single and visualizer “Ornaments From The Well” a few days ago. The song will appear on the band’s upcoming album “This Bright and Beautiful World” set for release April 15th on Rude Records/Equal Vision Records. “Ornaments From The Well” highlights a continued shift into a new era of the band, evoking a mix of anguished alt-rock and post-hardcore punctuated by moments of raw brutality. The new song is the 10th and final track of the album, and a fitting conclusion to the band’s most emotive release yet. Serpentine riffs permeate the song, building a sinister tension that helps the band’s distinct melodic sensibilities shine. The lyrics are stark and brooding, adding a palpable sense of darkness to the track that is punctuated by the swirling accompanying visualizer. Speaking on the theme of the song, singer Brent Mills had this to say: “Last song on the record. First and only song I had finished lyrics for when we left for the studio. I didn’t realize it would set [Read More]

It will be released July 22nd via Rise Records. Talking about the single, Brandon says: “What I want people to get out of this song is, I want them to feel safe listening to it… especially if you suffer from these things. At the end of the day, it’s all that I want to feel, is better. And I think that’s why that became such a stamp in this song because I think that’s what everybody wants to feel… Awareness is important, being kind to people is important. So I hope you get satisfaction out of this song like it has done for me.” A few weeks ago, Palisades released the music video for “My Consequences”, which reached almost 300k [Read More]
