Dean Lewis coming to The Fillmore and check out new track Trust Me Mate

October 13, 2023

Australian singer/songwriter Dean Lewis has just released his new single, Trust Me Mate, which is an emotionally driven heartfelt track about helping a loved one through a difficult time, feeling lost. When you feel like you are in the darkest of times, this song brings the light.  It is such an amazing song, so full of raw emotion. It is like that feeling you get, when someone gives you a much needed hug and you are just about to let go and the other person knows how much you need to be held longer, giving you a warm comforting hug. It is those moments where you feel safe again, that is what this song brings out. Check out the song here: Dean is currently on his ‘Future Is Bright’ World Tour, which at the end of the year will see him play close to 100 shows/festivals in Australia, UK, Europe, ASIA and USA.  He will be performing at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco on October 21st.  Check the website for all upcoming tour dates. ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: J.R. Bones releases 1st LP in 5 years, Slow Lightning

October 13, 2023

Today, the New York-based artist The Bones of J.R. Jones (a.k.a. Jonathon Linaberry) released his first studio album in more than five years, Slow Lightning via Tone Tree Music. Jonathon Linaberry comments: “‘Slow lightning’ is about a power you can’t control. A force that’s bigger than you and follows its own path no matter how badly you want to mold or direct it. That’s what this record felt like, and it’s something I had to figure out how to embrace.” As the title suggests, the 12-track collection Slow Lightning is raw and visceral, pulsating with an understated electrical current that flows through his cinematic brand of roots noir. The songs grapple with doubt and desire in the face of nature and fate, and frequent collaborator Kiyoshi Matsuyama’s production is eerily hypnotic to match, with haunting synthesizers, vintage drum machines, and ghostly guitars.   “I felt very lost at the time I was writing these songs,” Linaberry confesses. “It was a moment of deep crisis and anxiety, but I knew the only way out was through, which meant I [Read More]

VIDEO: American metal band Sour Times are back with People Over Profit

October 13, 2023

American metal band Sour Times are back with their new track/video of People Over Profit. The track is the lead track off their new EP, Awaken The Voiceless which is available on all major platforms today. Joseph Izayea had this to say; “I’m stoked to announce the release of the new Sour Times EP “Awaken The Voiceless” on most digital platforms today. Our new video release “People over Profit” dropping on the Do Work channel also marks the elation in the Sour Times camp of seeing this record finally come to light. This whole endeavor was a long time in the making, and we worked hard to tap into the sentiments of anger, fear, and isolation most felt living through the pandemic and the never ending onslaught of war-mongering from the “profit above all” minded powers that be. Taking into the fold Chris Matthews on guitar and Monte Arnstam behind the drums catalyzed a whole new ethos for Sour Times, bringing out the very best in Ben and I, and pushing the whole project into new territory. I’m [Read More]

Aftershock 2023, a true success, delivers non stop rock and metal

October 12, 2023

West Coast’s Biggest Rock Festival Aftershock presented by Danny Wimmer Presents was a true success, bringing non stop rock and metal for four days. The massive lineup included  Guns N’ Roses, Tool, Avenged Sevenfold, Korn, Godsmack, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, Limp Bizkit, Rancid, Turnstile, 311, Megadeth, The Cult, AFI, I Prevail, Avatar, and so many more bands. The four stages had something for everyone and remained packed each day. The crowds arrived early so they wouldn’t miss even the starting bands. The lines moved smoothly and the park was full of lush grass for the fans to spread out on. Whether you were there for the headliner or two, the lineup made sure you left with many new favorite bands. Some of our favorite bands were some that we had never seen live before.  Amber Wild put on a spectacular rockin set, Wargasm brought a punk rock Plasmatics vibe to the stage and we loved every minute of it!  Asava performed one of the best rock covers of Kate Bush’s Running Up the Hill [Read More]

The Last Dinner Party release new song/video for My Lady of Mercy

October 12, 2023

One of my favorite new bands is The Last Dinner Party. We have been playing them all summer and now we are loving their latest release, My Lady Of Mercy. They explain about the song, My Lady of Mercy is about being a girl. A girl looking at a painting of Joan of Arc for the first time and thinking that she looks so brave and so beautiful that maybe she wants to kiss her. And maybe she also wants to kiss the girl who stands next to her in the school choir. The song is out now everywhere https://tldp.lnk.to/mlom  Music video directed by @dir.harvfrost and @dorapaphides. Check out the song and video here: We can’t wait to see them live and we see they have only a handful of US dates this fall but we are hoping San Francisco will be added.  If not, Los Angeles is calling our name. Check the dates below and get yourself to a show! Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on [Read More]
