Skate punk band Totally Slow release new single/video off upcoming LP

February 8, 2024

Skate punk band Totally Slow are gearing up for the release of their fourth LP, Future Burns and are releasing the single and video for the title track. Their music carries a nostalgic nod to 90s garage bands and skater surf punk, all the while wrapped in killer guitars for an updated melodic sound. Check out the video here:   Described by guitarist and vocalist Scott Hicks as “an existential field trip through the tortured mind of an omnipotent autocrat drowning under the weight of anxiety and obsolete tech,“ the song serves as a sneak peek into their upcoming second LP with Ohio’s Refresh Records. The upcoming album was recorded at The Sandwich Shoppe with Scotty Sandwich. Features collaborations with Noelle from Shehehe and Sam from Man or Astroman. Mastered by Mike Westbrook. Check out tour dates: April 6 – Chapel Hill NC with Teen Mortgage & Death Lens May 4 – Greensboro NC LP Release Party at Flat Iron with Shehehe May 16 – Richmond VA at Banditos with Night!Night! Normandie release new record “Dopamine Clinic” this Friday

February 7, 2024

Stockholm trio, Normandie, announced their new album ‘Dopamine’ last September. Now the wait is over, the record will finally be released this Friday, February 9th 2024 via Easy Life Records. Set in a not-too-distant and – crucially – not-at-all-unrealistic future, Normandie’s fourth album, ‘Dopamine’, finds the band asking two unsettling questions: what if we pushed our brains and bodies far beyond their limits? And what if we already are? On their follow-up to 2021’s ‘Dark & Beautiful Secrets’, Philip, Håkan (Almbladh – guitar) and Anton (Franzon – drums) tackle the overstimulation of modern life head-on, and answer some hefty questions with some even bigger songs to produce a devastating, clinical example of everything a modern rock band should be. “The whole album is about the chase for different highs and natural chemicals: oxytocin, serotonin, dopamine, endorphins, adrenaline…” starts Philip. “What if dopamine had to be clinically provided because we’ve burned through our receptors?” “Making this album futuristic and dystopian came very naturally when we started discussing the current state of the world. We’re all on [Read More]

Bury Tomorrow, We Came As Romans, Kingdom Of Giants live in Munich

February 3, 2024

“Last time there were just a few crowd surfers,” they said. “This shouldn’t be too stressful,” they said. Didn’t take long until everyone realized, it wouldn’t be chill at all. Actually, the fans and the bands kept security pretty busy. Cudos to security, they did an amazing job of catching everyone and seeing them safely out of the pit. Kingdom Of Giants had an almost full house to start the night. They did a good job of getting the crowd ready for the following bands. So performance-wise they were great, but the sound was awful. Somehow the sound guy didn’t really find the right balance especially when it came to bass. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good bass, but this was just too much. Sometimes it was quite hard to get which song the band just played, cuz every time the bass hit, everything started tingling and it sounded like mash. Thankfully the sound got better when We Came As Romans hit the stage. They started their set with the title track of [Read More]
