Papa Roach just announced a co-headliner tour with Hollywood Undead. European fans are the lucky ones that can enjoy this awesome package in 2020. The tour launches on February 16th in Barcelona/Spain.
‘For years we thought about going on tour in this combination. We have often shared the same stages at shows and festivals, but we have never properly toured together. We like to join with bands that move around in the same circles. That way we can bring the fans together and both bands can present themselves. For the others it’s a great opportunity, to steal fans from us….but it’s the same for us the other way round.’ A third act will be joining the bands. ‘We haven’t fixed anything yet on who will be the opener. There are a few on the table, so we have to announce that later.’

In 2020 the band celebrates the 20-year anniversary of their debut record ‘Infest’. The record has platinum status. Songs like ‘Last Resort’ and ‘Broken Home’ became classics and also the soundtrack of an era. In January 2019 Papa Roach released their 10th and latest studio record ‘Who Do You Trust?’. It shows many different facets of the band – hard rocking songs and catchy tunes and also electronic touches. For the upcoming shows the band’s frontman Jacoby Shaddix promises a mix of old and new:
‘We will, in equal parts, look back at our past, but the recent material won’t go short. At the moment we play about five to six new songs live. This ensures a pretty varied rock show!’
The announced dates have a special meaning for Papa Roach.
‘For us, this tour is a statement’, Shaddix states. ‘Next year is 2020, which means that exactly 20 years ago our first record ‘Infest’ was released. For us, this tour is a great celebration of our successes, but also of our failures. Because we also survived those!’
Papa Roach are amongst the busiest touring bands. It’s not uncommon that the four-piece plays over one hundred shows in only one year. By now they have the reputation as a sublime captivating live band:
‘On tour I can visually and emotionally comprehend, what impact our music has on the audience’, explains Shaddix. ‘I think it’s important to go on stage and share this moment with everyone. For me, it’s the purest music experience, when the vibration in the room rattles you and the emotions float through the air, so everybody feels connected to the songs.’
Papa Roach just released an acoustic version of ‘Feel Like Home’. The video for the song was filmed in Bologna, Italy. Check it out:
