We recently told you about the amazing new single and video by Longreef called Battle Plan. The song has a great message of hope and is helping raise awareness of bullying. You can check out our original post here.
Longreef released the single in conjunction with the www.friendmovement.com to help raise awareness of the issue of bullying. First off, it is a great song in itself that is inspirational and uplifting and the vocals are truly captivating. Check out the video and also make sure to download the song here:
Who is Longreef? Four Australians who came to the US and quickly began touring and gaining a lot of attention for their emotionally driven rock that is quite infectious! Longreef is:

Music Junkie Press: Thank you so much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press. We love the new song and video for Battle Plan. Can you tell us more about how you got involved with the Friend Movement?
Josh: Thanks so much we’re very happy everyone’s enjoying the song and it’s cause. We were looking for an organization that shared the same believes as us with bully prevention and Friend Movement were a great fit.
They’re a company that show positive anti-bullying images through art and media and with the song like “Battle Plan” what better way to do it.
Music Junkie Press: The song is very uplifting and really brings that sense of hope and unity. Can you tell us more about the song and the inspiration behind it?
Josh: The song started as a motivational, positive message. While writing Battle Plan the positive message in the lyrics started to form a common theme and i realized this could be a song with strong , uplifting call to action to anyone who listened. I had the idea to write a song about bullying for some time and had been waiting for the right ideas to flow through to crystallize that version into reality.
As a victim of high school bullying this was my way of finally speaking out and being heard.
Music Junkie Press:Â Â It is definitely a great song and we are so glad that everyone loves it as much as we do. Â We notice you have a lot of upcoming shows, do you have any plans to come out to the West Coast? We would love to see you out here!
Josh: Yes this year’s tour has been crazy so far with touring. We go pretty much all over the country, i think last year we hit over 34 states. I personally have a little romance with the West Coast, It was the first place I started songwriting when i hit the U.S and grew very fond of the coast and people. I think we’re heading that way in October for a bunch of shows and some press so we’d love to see you guys.
Music Junkie Press:Â We can’t wait for you guys to come out to California. We will definitely bring out the whole crew. Being that you are all from Australia yet based here in the States, what is something that you really miss from home?
Josh: Meat pies and Vegemite
Music Junkie Press:Â We have heard a lot of good things about that Vegemite!!!! Can you tell us what you are currently working on?
Josh: We’re currently in the middle of recording the new record which will be released sometime in September. There’s a great bunch of songs we’ve been working on, a little different to what we did with “Dirty Motel” but just as catchy and hooky… its really starting to take shape and we’re excited to get it out to our fans.
Music Junkie Press:Â Â We can’t wait for the new record. You guys have definitely done a major amount of touring and really love to get out there and perform live, do you guys have any preshow rituals to get yourself ready for those shows?
 Josh: Um, kind of… An hour before a show you’ll find us relaxing or warming up, I tend to find a quiet space as i do some pretty ridiculous noises to warm up the old voice before showtime… If i do that stuff in public i tend to get a few odd looks… Generally before we walk out on stage we stand around and do this funny fist pump action thingy and say ” Ready to Rock ” or ” Lets have kick ass show”
Music Junkie Press: Â If we could peak into your Ipod, what artist or song might we be most surprised at finding in there?
Josh: Justin Bieber!
Music Junkie Press:Â If you were to create your dream tour, what three other bands would you like to tour with?
Josh: Wow thats a tough one as there’s soooo many i’d love to tour with, but off the top of my head i’d have to say Pearl Jam, Muse, The Killers and Incubus
Music Junkie Press: Lastly, is there anything else you would like to share with our audience?
