Morrissey. What can I say about this man, with his incredible voice that became my safe haven in the those crazy angst filled teen years of my past. His voice has been the soundtrack of my life and the songs they sing have taken me through the best and the worst times of my life. I have Morrissey to thank for the wonderful gift of their music. That is such a shared sentiment by so many fans. You want to talk to him, touch him, hug him, thank him and that is exactly what many fans did and attempted to do last night.
The 54 year old singer was tackled by several fans during the encore performance at the City National Civic in San Jose, Ca last night. Several of the first few fans made it to the stage and you can see just wanted to touch him and Morrissey so kindly obliged them all, even reaching out to those that were being taken away by security. It continued on through the song, One Day, Goodbye Will Be Farewell and then at one point security could not heed off the fans, as several tackled Morrissey and he fell to the floor. The boos ensued and the band stopped playing. You can watch it in the following video:
What a way to start off the tour. Morrissey is currently on a U.S. Tour as we excitedly await the release of the new album, World Peace is None of Your Business, which is scheduled for a July release. We really hope that fans please respect the singer and for heaven’s sake…. DON’T HURT HIM!!!!!
If you have never experienced a live Morrissey concert, you are in for the night of your life as your soul is fed with emotionally driven lyrics and music that fills your heart.
