It is time to get excited because new music is on the way from Gary Cherone (Extreme, Van Halen) and his project Hurtsmile which is a collaboration with his brother/guitarist Mark Cherone. These amazingly talented brothers along with Joe Pessia (bass, mandolin) and Dana Spellman (drums, percussion) are set to release RETROGRENADE on October 7th through Cherone’s own record label, Slipkid Records. The album which was completely fan funded will have Cherone pay homage to almost every genre that he has excelled in.
Of RETROGRENADE, Gary Cherone commented, “The strength of this record is that all the members of the band contributed to the songwriting process which resulted in a wonderfully creative diversity. This second effort has been a natural progression and we’ve yet to repeat ourselves musically.”
