Ragdoll makes their debut at the Whisky a Go Go and delivers a solid rockin set!

Australia rockers Ragdoll have returned to the the US in support of their upcoming release, Ragdoll Rewound which is a compilation of Ragdoll‘s first two releases (‘Ragdoll Rock’ and ‘Here Today’) plus four live recordings, one of which is a new composition, “Rewind Your Mind.” The album is set to release later this week on May 23rd. The trio revisited the first EP and had it remixed and polished the way they had always wanted to hear it. Songs like “Foot to the Floor” sound leaner and meaner while “The Feeling” is even more epic! Any issues the band may have had with the original ‘Here Today’ master have been fully rectified here too; while the new master of “Tell Me” in particular is a lot more dynamic and more true to the original mix.

Ragdoll is Ryan Rafferty on (lead vocals, bass), Leon Todd (guitar), and Cam Barrett (drums) and together they are creating a powerful strong rock and roll sound worthy of your attention. With an intense desire to inject new life into the music they love; Ragdoll‘s mission is to dismantle the sometimes tired genres of classic rock, hard rock and progressive rock and rebuild them, producing a modern hybrid that both transcends and revitalizes the traditional rock genres. What they have created is rock and roll at it’s finest and a big sound coming from these three.  They are set to perform at this year’s Rocklahoma and will be performing on their Rewind Your Mind Tour.

We were able to catch Ragdoll as they opened up for Skid Row at the legendary Whisky a GoGo this past Saturday. Ragdoll put on a solid rockin set filled with energy that had the crowd on their feet. It is great to see how a trio can create such a powerful sound and breathe fresh new life into rock and roll.  They all have great stage presence, with Leon jumping around and getting the crowd fired up, Ryan captivating the crowd with his vocals and Cam was spot on his precision drumming, all while the three of them were smiling at the crowd. You can really tell that these three love what they are doing and they are exactly where they belong; on the stage. Check out the slide show of photos by Rockin Ryan from their set (you can also check them out on Rockin’ Ryan’s Facebook Album)

We had the opportunity to talk with Ragdoll right after their set and here is that interview:

Another highlight of the night was catching Dug Pinnick as he came down to check out Ragdoll. We interviewed Dug a couple months ago as we discussed his new band, KXM. Check it out here.

We’re doing twenty shows, starting in California, then the Midwest and culminating in Vegas. We’ll be rolling out a new music video and a whole new line of merchandise; everything from tee shirts and CD’s to condoms and slap bands! We’ll then return home for the Australian launch of the record before entering the studio to record the material we’ve prepared for our fourth all original studio release.”

Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay tuned for more rock and roll from Ragdoll. I will leave you with the video of my favorite song of theirs, All I Want.
