Eyes Set To Kill are one of our favorite bands. They are such a hard working band and have been busy touring in support of their current album, MASKS. We saw them perform earlier this year in San Francisco at the DNA Lounge. They were amazing and completely blew the crowd with th eir high energetic set! Just last week, bass player Anissa Rodriguez was taken to the hospital for problems with her eye as they were performing at the Aftershock Bar & Grill in Merriam, KS. When we first got word that she was diagnosed with a blood clot behind her eye, we were hoping that things would get better from that serious situation. After being hospitalized, she has now been released so she can return to her home in Arizona and recover from. We wish you a full and speedy recovery Anissa!!!!
She will be on bed rest for the next couple of weeks. Pictures of her eye and in the hospital can be seen on the bands Facebook page. The band has officially cancelled the remainder of their tour dates in July as a result and hope to get back on the road and make up shows soon! Singer/Guitarist and sister Alexia Rodriguez has released this statement:
“Eyes Set To Kill must unfortunately cancel the rest of our tour dates in July due to the recent discovery of a blood clot behind my sister Anissa’s eye. I have witnessed my sister go through some painful procedures and I am thankful that I have had the chance to be by her side through it all. The doctor said she is going to need a couple weeks to recover and I will continue to stay by her side to help her back to health. We want to thank all the fans for their love and understanding. We also hope to make up for our cancelled appearances somehow, someway. This past week has been a scary journey but I am just happy I could be here for her through the most excruciating experience and we are both so thankful to have been reading all of the love from our devoted fans and family. I truly believe their prayers helped her spirits and sped up her healing process.”
We are so happy to hear that Anissa is on the mend and will be able to return home to recover. We hope she takes all the time she needs to heal and we look forward to her return on the stage after. Eyes Set To Kill are set to perform at this year’s Aftershock Festival in Sacramento on September 13th. We can’t wait to catch them once again since they are one of our favorites and you can’t miss these energetic young musicians.
One thing is for sure, they are an amazing live band that deliver a fierce set from start to finish. We had the chance to interview them when they came through San Francisco earlier this year and are pleased to bring you that interview here:
If you don’t already have it, make sure to pick up your copy of Masks which is out on Century Media Records. Also, make sure to visit their social media sites so you can stay up to date on their latest news. You can check out a tribute video that Rockin Ryan made which includes footage and photos of the San Francisco set:
