As you know it has been a busy with for FILTER news. We recently told you about Phil Buckman announcing his departure from FILTER on his Facebook page a little over a week ago. Most recently, FILTER had to cancel their San Francisco show on Sunday.
Today’s news is the announcement of the new bassist. FILTER has announced TIM Kelleher as their new bassist. You might have heard of him as he had toured with 30 Seconds to Mars and was also touring the Rock of Ages musical.
So everyone, let’s all welcome Tim on board and try to catch them while they are out on tour. I believe tonight they are playing Salt Lake City, UT and we look forward to their rescheduled date of November 15th for their San Francisco show!

First news of the day is that FILTER has cancelled their upcoming San Francisco show set for tomorrow night, October 6th at Regency Ballroom. This was one stop on their Self Inflicted Tour with RED, Otherwise, and We As Human. We were looking forward to covering this show since it was filled with our favorite bands that we got to see at Aftershock Festival. We As Human and Otherwise really stole the show at the Sacramento festival.
I heard the cancellation via a local radio station’s status but I couldn’t find it anywhere else. Then through my searching, I came across even more news. On September 30th Phil Buckman, bassists announced his departure from FILTER. I completely missed this news and have not seen anything else about it. Today I did see a tweet from FILTER Official that mentions it. Here are the two posts.
So there you go. I wish Phil all the best in his future endeavors. He is one talented musician and incredible bassist. You can catch Phil performing at the ROCK AGAINST MS event on October 17th at the Whisky a Go Go. He will be playing with an amazing group of musicians like Steve Lukather, Gilby Clark, Brian Tichy, Jimmy D’Anda, Robert Sarzo and the list keeps going on. You can get more details here.
As well, I wish all the best to FILTER and hope they can reschedule their San Francisco show so can see them. Guitarist Jonny Radtke mentioned on Twitter that they are going to try and reschedule the San Francisco show to November 15th. I don’t have any news for the upcoming tour dates but you can check the dates on their website and make sure to catch them when they come to your town.
