Black River Delta is back with their new album “Shakin'”. It will be out June 4th via Sofaburn Records. With their new song “California Sun” the band delivers the third single from their long-awaited third studio record.

Frontman Erik Jacobs on the new single:

“California Sun” is a track that has been with us for quite some time. We started writing it a few years ago and it has been through a few stages before it was finished. We recorded drums and guitars in Malmö, Sweden, and then continued with bass in Los Angeles. Mid-recording we took a break and went on a road trip. Even though we’d always seen this track as a ”car song” we hadn’t written any lyrics for it. So we were actually driving down Highway 1, probably going too fast and listening to rock songs way too loud on the radio. And that experience was the last piece of the puzzle, that was what ‘California Sun’ was all about.”

“The idea for the music video was easy, we would just go back to the US and drive down Highway 1 again, but this time with a camera. Turns out, that idea is not as easy as it sounds when there’s a pandemic going on. So we had no idea. But then we got to talking with Johan Bodell, a director from our hometown. He was in the same situation as we were, he was supposed to be in the US working, but his project had to be put on ice. So he said ”let’s just go out and shoot the video here, it will show your longing for California instead.” Winter in Sweden is about as far from California sun you can come, so it’s a nice contrast.”

After “Shakin'”, “Burning And Burning” was the second single taken from their upcoming record.

“Burning And Burning” is a song about running away, hiding and forgetting. Only to find out, that the place you really belong to, is the place you ran away in the first place. It’s a heartbreak song, accompanied by amplified guitars, performed in the name of Blues and Rock’n’Roll.

Black River Delta is an alternative rockband from Bollnäs, Sweden. So far they have released two studio records: “Devil On The Loose” (2016) and “VOL.II” (2018)

The rough blues-rock-sound of the band draws from classic blues legends like Robert Johnson, the rough style of R.L. Burnside and modern artists like The Black Keys, Gary Clark Jr. and BRMC.

The abilities to combine old blues with modern rock led them to many tours through Europe and even North-America and attracted the attention of artists like blues legend Joe Bonamassa, who referred to “VOL. II” as one of the best records of 2018 and even invited the band to a performance on his annual festival cruise.

The band also shared tour dates for Germany and Austria for December 2021:

10.12.21: Hamburg – Nochtspeicher
12.12.21: Köln -Blue Shell
13.12.21: München – Strom
14.12.21: Wien – Chelsea
15.12.21: Frankfurt – Nachtleben
17.12.21: Dresden – Beatpol
19.12.21: Berlin – Privatclub

We’re crossing our fingers, that this tour can happen.
