Rest in Peace
Mitch Adam Lucker
October 20, 1984 to November 1, 2012
We have some breaking news to report. Mitch Lucker, lead singer of Suicide Silence died this morning from injuries sustained from a motorcycle accident overnight. Mitch Lucker was only 28 years old and was one of my son’s favorite singers. Suicide Silence were two time winners of the Revolver Golden God Award for most innovative band and best new band. Ryan had seen Suicide Silence several times and we were looking forward to seeing them again later this month on November 23, 2012 at the Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.
We have confirmed that Mitch was involved in a motorcycle accident and was hospitalized sometime around 9 pm on October 31, 2012 in the Southern California region. He died early morning at 6:17 am on November 1, 2012 from his injuries. Mitch lived in the Huntington Beach area. and his last tweet was eerily “The dead are living” and had a picture of him in his epic Halloween attire.
We will update you as we receive additional information. Recently posted on the band’s Facebook page was this:
“There’s no easy way to say this. Mitch passed away earlier this morning from injuries sustained during a motorcycle accident. This is completely devastating to all of us and we offer our deepest condolences to his family. He will be forever in our hearts.
R.I.P. Mitchell Adam Lucker – We Love You Brother”
Here is a tribute video my son made for Mitch.
We will get bring you more updates, but for now please go to their facebook page and you can share your memories and thoughts. We express our deepest condolences to his family, bandmates, friends and fans. Mitch’s music made an impact on many and he will be missed. There are people who never got into the “metal” scene or understand the music but through my son Ryan I was able to get to appreciate all types of music and to know the wonderful people behind their music.
Update: A candelight vigil was held November 1, 2012 where family and friends gathered to remember Mitch and share stories. During the vigil Mitch’s wife Jolie Carmadella explains how she tried to keep Mitch from leaving that night after he had been drinking. She pleads with others to not drink and drive. You can see the full video below:
Update 11/6/12 Suicide Silence has released information on how to donate to the Mitch Lucker Memorial Fund which 100% of the proceeds will be going to Mitch’s daughter Kenadee’s Education Fund. For anyone who donates $20 and up, will receive a commemorative RIP Mitch Lucker shirt. Here is the link on how you can donate. Here is the T-shirt design and we have already completed our donation!
In addition to the T-shirt and Memorial Fund, Jeremy Saffer, renowned photographer of bands and models is releasing a Mitch Lucker Print Series as well as custom prints that can be ordered and 100% of the proceeds are going to the Mitch Lucker Memorial Fund for Kenadee’s Education. Jeremy is an excellent photographer and I will be ordering a couple of my favorite prints including the top photo which is my favorite of Mitch. Here is the link for Jeremy and his prints.

first band i got into. i love them i hope the band goes on
It’s not that I’m shocked that they’re going on, I’m proud of them. But I feel like if they’re going to replace Mitch, they should change the name of the band & do new songs. They should not be covering Mitch’s music. I also feel like the new frontman should not be able to do Mitch’s moves. But that’s just me.
