Our Band of the Day is The Phoenix Within

Today’s Band of the Day goes to acoustic indie rockers The Phoenix Within. When you take a listen to them, you can’t help but be drawn to the emotions that their songs bring out. They express such honesty and vulnerability in their music. For example, my favorite track, Sharks and it is wrapped in beautiful sentiment. It is quite astounding at how infectiously catchy that song really is! Take a listen and you will agree. They will soon be releasing their new EP Natalie Rose later this summer. Another exciting thing is that they are looking to perform on the Ernie Ball Stage during Vans Warped Tour. Today’s Band of the Day goes to indie rockers The Winter Brave. They might sound familiar to you ash they had gained international attention and momentum in the winter of 2013 when Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters mentioned the band  during an “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) on Reddit.com. The Winter Brave are gearing up for the upcoming release of their new EP, The Hand You Never Seem To Lend. Their music truly highlights honest raw emotion wrapped in passionate vocals. Today’s Band of the Day is the young talented 11 year old rock duo, V2 (pronounced V Squared). These young boys have been garnering a lot of well deserved attention for their hard hitting rock music. Today’s Band of the Day comes from Bogota, Colombia. They are Blue Haunted Fish and they are a welcome breath of fresh rock n roll air. They bring out a very alternative modern edge to their music, infusing it with theatrical elements that not only captivate you, but have you instantly addicted. I love the creativity this band brings to their music. They are forging ahead creating their own signature sound and style. Harvard of the South is our Band of the Day

Today’s Band of the Day is a wonderful new band which formed from a side project of members of Blue October, Hurricane Bells and Longwave. We had the opportunity to catch them perform the other night opening for Blue October at Ace of Spades in Sacramento. It was amazing, to say the least. I was so glad that we got there early enough to see them blow away the crowd with their high energy set. It is great to see a band making great rock and roll with a passion for their music and it really shows when these guys perform live. They played the title track off their newly released EP, Miracle and it is a musical gem. This is one song that can truly become your lifeline of hope and captures your heart. Today’s Band of the Day goes to an absolutely amazing young band. Don’t let their young years fool you. These guys have so much passion and dedication to their music well beyond their years. What is also quite impressive is that their music creates such a strong connection to the listener as it takes them on a musical journey of emotions. With their song, Carry On which was written in December 2013 and dealt with the issue of bullying. With the song, fans and listeners found the song to be that voice inside telling them, they can can Carry On. It became inspiration, strength and power to many. I applaud greatly musicians who can not only make kick ass rock n roll but at the same time, bring out such a positive message.
