Today for our Countdown of 14 Bands that will rule 2014, we are looking at number 12! Number 12 goes to Burn Halo! Burn Halo was created by James Hart (frontman of Eighteen Visions) sometime in 2007. We have had the pleasure of seeing Burn Halo about a dozen times since 2009 and they always put on an incredible show. James Hart always delivers intense energy with his vocals and Joey Roxx, their kick ass guitarist is right up front and center (well stage left to be exact!) We are excited to see Ryan Frost returned to playing rhythm guitar. Burn Halo has been busy for the last couple months putting together their final touches on their upcoming album. Today we start a very new special countdown for the end of the year. Now is the time when we countdown the 14 bands that we think will rule in 2014. We start at number 14 with Monster Truck! Hailing from Ontario, Canada these guys are true to form rockers. What started as a formation of musicians from various Canadian Indie bands, quickly gained momentum and the attention that they deserved. This past year I was first introduced to Monster Truck and instantly fell in love with them. They have successfully revived my love for vintage rock blended with groove filled bass, stellar riffs, thundering drums and powerful vocals. What more can you ask for? Monster Truck is Jon Harvey on Bass and Vocals, Brandon Bliss on Keys and Vocals, Steve Kiely on Drums and Vocals and Jeremy Widerman on Guitar and Vocals. For our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week, I am excited to bring you CURRAN from the UK. They have an awesome rock n roll sound that will have you hooked from the first listen. CURRAN is Mark Curran on Vocals, Mat Anthony on Guitar, Dean Roberts on Rhythm Guitar, Enrico Terella on Bass and Kris Rich on Drums. Check out their video for their song, “Run Back to You” I just love that song. It has such a bluesy rock vibe and the vocals remind me of one of my all-time favorite vocalists, Tom Keifer. NEW TOUR 2014: COMBICHRIST with William Control and New Years Day!

We have just received the dates for the upcoming tour for Combichrist “The We Love Tour” with special guest William Control and New Year’s Day! The tour is set to start off on April 3rd in Charlotte, NC and you can check the other dates below: I am not surprised to see William Control and Combichrist on tour together since when we saw William Control play in San Francisco last month for “The Revel Without a Cause Tour” at the DNA Lounge, Combichrist was hitting the stage downstairs at the DNA Lounge on the same night! Butcher Babies to join In This Moment for HellPop II Tour!

We have been thoroughly enjoying BUTCHER BABIES debut album “Goliath” and I love their just released video for “Magnolia Blvd.” They have had quite a busy year touring in support of this awesome album and finished the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem festival, supporting DANZIG on his 25th anniversary tour and we were glad to catch them at the Aftershock Festival in Sacramento in September. They will be having a brief break and then setting out on January 2nd for the 16 city Hellpop II Tour with Century Media labelmates In This Moment. The tour also includes Devour the Day and All Hail the Yeti. Christian Martucci of Thousand Watt Stare will join Stone Sour on new tour

I know I have told you before that I love Christian Martucci’s music. I have my Ipod filled with great songs from Christian’s past and they are some of my favorite songs. From “Nowhere Ride” by The Chelsea Smiles to “Last Fucking Hope” by Black President and to “Shine”, “Downsider” and “Lights Out” from “Thousand Watt Stare“. Not to mention Christian’s solo project, “Man Without a Name”. Christian is just purely awesome on guitar and vocals. He has such a great unique sound that just draws you in and energizes you. He is like liquid adrenaline running through your veins. Well, Stone Sour recently announced their upcoming tour which is set to start in January in Florida. They also made an announcement that due to the upcoming Slipknot album, guitarist Jim Root will not be heading out on tour with them.
