The Broken Ravens from Scotland are our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week!

A great new rock band from the Stornoway from Isle of Lewis, Scotland called The Broken Ravens are our Tuesdays Travels Pick of the Week for Music from around the world!  You are really going to love this band, they remind me of a mix of Black Sabbath with Soundgarden. The Broken Ravens are Kevin Clark on Drums, Lotto Ferguson on Bass/Vocals, Calum ‘Thrash’ Macaulay on Guitar/Vocals and Bugsy Maclean on Guitar/Vocals. What is great about this band is that they each have very diverse musical influences and together they have created their own unique sound which has to be heard! We asked Kevin if they could name three of their biggest influences and here is what he told us, “As all our influences are so diverse, we nearly ended up in a big fight over choosing just three , but, after a struggle, we managed to get it down to 4. Tonight Alive return to San Francisco for a stellar performance!

Australian rockers, Tonight Alive returned to San Francisco last night for their “The Other Side” tour show at Slim’s.  They were here last year as they opened for Pierce the Veil but this time the show was all theirs as part of their U.S. headlining tour in support of their new album, “The Other Side”. One thing is for sure, they put on a stellar performance that is filled with high energy and created a crowd camaraderie that cannot be rivaled. Tonight Alive‘s music is filled with empowering and uplifting lyrics as well as songs that people can emotionally connect to.  Jenna McDougall, frontwoman, has been quoted before as saying, ““A lot of people have said that we saved their lives and that our music got them through really difficult times. 3 DOORS DOWN announce acoustic tour in 2014!

3 Doors Down recently performed at their 10th anniversary of THE BETTER LIFE FOUNDATION. The Better Life Foundation helps bring a positive change in the lives of children in need of food, shelter, and medical assistance, and to enhance the lives of children and young adults with special needs.  Every year funds are raised an distributed to organizations and hospitals that help fulfill the band’s mission. Today, 3 Doors Down announce an acoustic tour which is set for January 2014 with their first stop being in Reno, Nevada. The tour will be called “Songs From The Basement” where they will be playing many of their biggest hits and fan favorites in an acoustic intimate setting. Aftershock Festival

Heaven’s Basement performs a spectacular cover of a Lady Gaga Song!

This has been quite a year for UK rockers Heaven’s Basement.  They stole the show at the Ernie Ball stage during the Aftershock Festival in September. You can read more about that here. Then they went out on tour with The Pretty Reckless and Louna and were amazing! You can check out more about that  here. They have recently finished up the Going To Hell Tour and returned home. They then went to perform a cover for Phil Taggart and Alice Levine for the Live Lounge on BBC Radio 1.  Well, it was quite an AMAZING performance! Heaven’s Basement performed a cover of Lady Ga Ga’s Do What U Want.  Honestly, this cover quite trumps the original by tenfold! The emotion and passion that Heaven’s Basement put into their performances comes out loud and clear in this video. DRAMARAMA to play at Whisky-a-Go-Go 50th Anniversary Party!

Earlier this year we brought you an interview with one of the most influential bands of my life, DRAMARAMA. You can check ou that interview here. State Line Empire to play at the Whisky’s 50th Anniversary Party!

One of the hardest working bad ass rock bands of California is set to play the legendary Whisky-a-Go-Go’s 50th Anniversary Party. That band is one of my favorite bands, State Line Empire! The best part is the party is on Saturday, January 25th, 2014 right during the NAMM 2014 show. We will be down there busy covering the NAMM show and checking out the latest and greatest in the music industry so it will be a long week. The highlight will be seeing State Line Empire on Saturday! It will be a great show and also playing that night is Jetboy and Faster Pussycat! The Pretty Reckless release incredible new song, Heaven Knows!

I just got back from running errands and I had a very special treat! I had the opportunity to listen to the new song by The Pretty Reckless, “Heaven Knows”. They debuted the song this morning on Sirius XM Octane channel (funny since I cancelled by XM last month because they cancelled Sixx Sense channel and I still get it free for the next month). DAMN this song is AMAZING!  It has an old school rock circa Joan Jett/Runaways vibe and the catchiest sing along part on the air today. The song will become available for purchase on Itunes on Tuesday November 19th! Taylor has truly proven to be a Rock Goddess that is on top of the charts these days. The song comes off their upcoming album, Going To Hell which is scheduled for a 2014 release date.  The Pretty Reckless released a video for their first song off the album, “Going To Hell” and that is a badass song.
