Heaven’s Basement performs a spectacular cover of a Lady Gaga Song!

November 18, 2013

This has been quite a year for UK rockers Heaven’s Basement.  They stole the show at the Ernie Ball stage during the Aftershock Festival in September. You can read more about that here. Then they went out on tour with The Pretty Reckless and Louna and were amazing! You can check out more about that  here. They have recently finished up the Going To Hell Tour and returned home. They then went to perform a cover for Phil Taggart and Alice Levine for the Live Lounge on BBC Radio 1.  Well, it was quite an AMAZING performance! Heaven’s Basement performed a cover of Lady Ga Ga’s Do What U Want.  Honestly, this cover quite trumps the original by tenfold! The emotion and passion that Heaven’s Basement put into their performances comes out loud and clear in this video. Check it out and be amazed!   Heaven’s Basement have been so busy this year touring in support of their album, Filthy Empire that is filled with hits and all the songs remain on my current playlist!  They have a [Read More]

DRAMARAMA to play at Whisky-a-Go-Go 50th Anniversary Party!

November 16, 2013

Earlier this year we brought you an interview with one of the most influential bands of my life, DRAMARAMA. You can check ou that interview here. As I said in that post, “Music has been my passenger on my rollercoaster ride of my life, with me during my highs and there to comfort me during my lows. No matter what mood I was in, music was always there to share in the moment. So many times when someone mentions an artist or a band, I can go back and remember the first time I heard them or how I was introduced to their music. It is almost like when someone asks you about how you met an old friend or boyfriend. You always know the facts.” You can read about the first time I ever heard Dramarama. What is exciting is that Dramarama is set to play at one of The Whisky-a-Go-Go for their 50th Anniversary shows. They will be playing on Sunday, January 12th, 2014! Make sure to pick up your tickets to this incredible [Read More]

The Pretty Reckless release incredible new song, Heaven Knows!

November 15, 2013

I just got back from running errands and I had a very special treat! I had the opportunity to listen to the new song by The Pretty Reckless, “Heaven Knows”. They debuted the song this morning on Sirius XM Octane channel (funny since I cancelled by XM last month because they cancelled Sixx Sense channel and I still get it free for the next month). DAMN this song is AMAZING!  It has an old school rock circa Joan Jett/Runaways vibe and the catchiest sing along part on the air today. The song will become available for purchase on Itunes on Tuesday November 19th! Taylor has truly proven to be a Rock Goddess that is on top of the charts these days. The song comes off their upcoming album, Going To Hell which is scheduled for a 2014 release date.  The Pretty Reckless released a video for their first song off the album, “Going To Hell” and that is a badass song. You can actually download “Going To Hell” on Itunes now here.  Check out the video here:   [Read More]

Seven Days Lost release their video for ‘Whiskey and Gasoline”

November 13, 2013

Shock Rock/Metal Seven Days Lost from Pueblo, Colorado have just released their video for Whiskey and Gasoline. They have been called, rock, metal, shock rock but whatever you want to call them is fine with me. They are AWESOME! Think a combination of GWAR, Murderdolls and Rob Zombie!  The song is truly bad ass and has a great rockabilly feel to it’s metal rock and it is a funny video too.  Check out their video here:   You can pick up their new CD Good Day to Die which is available and music retailers or you can pick it up right from their store on their website here. Seven Days Lost is  Joseph Vallejos (Lead Guitar & Vocals), Michael Trejo (Guitar & Lead Vocals) Gary Higdon (Bass & Lead Vocals), and Justus Downey (Drums & Vocals). These guys not only deliver incredible energy onstage but provide a visual show with their music. Seven Days Lost are pure entertainment and their new CD is demanding that they be heard! Interview with SpiralArms and SF show highlights

November 13, 2013

Last Friday, we had the pleasure of catching SpiralArms as they opened up for Steel Panther at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.  One thing about a Steel Panther show is everybody is ready to ROCK and have some fun!  So it was awesome to see Bay Area local band, SpiralArms take over the stage and literally captured the crowd. SpiralArms is a six piece band and they literally create an amazingly complete sound. With the addition of a keyboardist and second guitarist which is often missed, you really get to hear the layers in their music and it just adds so much texture and depth to their sound. They are definitely one of the hottest contemporary rock bands out there and their live performances will completely ROCK YOU!  Their unique sound might remind you of a blend of Soundgarden and Black Sabbath which is a damn good combination! SpiralArms is: Tim Narducci – Vocals/Guitar Craig Locicero – Guitar Anthony Traslavina – Guitar Chris “Cornbread” Lombardo – Bass/Vocals Brad Barth – Keyboards Ron Redeen – Drums You can check out a [Read More]
