Calpurnia, overflowing with charisma delivers energetic set at legendary Fillmore in San Francisco

August 26, 2018

The Canadian indie rock band Calpurnia delivered a truly entertaining set last night at the legendary Fillmore in San Francisco. The 4-piece band was founded in 2017 and is led by Finn Wolfhard, known for his role in the highly acclaimed series Stranger Things. Finn met drummer Malcolm Craig on the set of a music video and the chemistry was immediate, adding Ayla Tesler-Mabe and Jack Anderson to the mix.  Together their passion for music was evident and highlighted through their music. They released their debut single “City Boy” on 7 March 2018. Last night at the SOLD OUT show the crowd was ready for a night of great music.  When we arrived, hours prior to the doors opening, the line of dedicated fans wrapped around over two city blocks. The elation raced through the crowds as the young fans could hardly contain their excitement. The night kicked off with a killer set by Spendtime Palace, a 5 piece rock band from Costa Mesa who won the crowd over instantly. Check out some photos of their set by [Read More]

PHOTO GALLERY: Dispatch delivers stellar set at Fox Theater in Oakland

August 23, 2018

The infectious indie rockers Dispatch made an impressive stop in Oakland at the Fox Theater. They are currently out on their summer tour with Nahko and Medicine For the People. Check out photos from Sean Liming:   Dispatch is truly one of the country’s most successful independent bands. Last year they released the highly praised album, America, Location 12 and they are set to release Location 13 this fall. Have you checked out their latest track Came For the Fire off Location 13?  A note from Chad on the song’s origin and the history behind Stinson Beach where America, Location 12 and Location 13 were recorded:   “The song is a story of my own relationship with my wife with the different paths and rocks along the way, combined with the extrapolated story of the man and woman who built the studio in Stinson Beach where we’ve been recording the past two years. Built in the 60s, the house was not originally a studio; but a dream house built painstakingly by an English teacher and [Read More]

Patrick O’Heffernan (Los Angeles) In the video for their song “Te Llevo”  the two founding members of Monoplasma, Hector Geronimo and Cesar “El Vampira” Lopez,  are reading a comic booklet in a Volkswagen while they tourthe country.  The booklet, a copy of the one slipped into hard copies of the single ”Te Llevo”,  described the “#tourintermidable”,  a national tour they have embarked on to present themselves to audiences nationwide.  The presentation is necessary even though both Geronimo and Lopez were familiar faces to legions of fans in both Europe and the United States.   Lopez was the guitarist for Jaguares, Azul Violeta,  and Maná, the most popular Latin band in history.  Geronimo, named  Best Vocalist of 2016 by HG Radio Mexico, was a the vocalist and frontman for Moebio, the Madrid-based alternative rock band that filled stadiums throughout Europe. Armored Saint with Act Of Defiance at the Backstage in Munich

August 16, 2018

(08/07/2018) Last Tuesday I went out for a classy night of Metal music. Armored Saint did us the honor of playing in Munich again. And a special show that was, because they played one of their most popular records ‘Symbol Of Salvation’ in it’s entirety. During the show, the band honored and remember the one man, who played a big part in the success of this record – Dave Prichad, who died in 1990, way before the actual release of the record. Armored Saint were accompanied by another Metal Blade Records band, Act Of Defiance. Act of Defiance was formed in 2014 by ex-Megadeth members guitarist Chris Broderick and drummer Shawn Drover. They were joined by Matt Bachand (guitarist for Shadows Fall) on bass and singer Henry Derek (ex-Scar The Martyr). So far they have released two records. While every member of the band is a very experienced musician, they’re still working on forming a fan base, which they surely extended that night. Here are some pictures of a fabulous night: Act of Defiance   [Read More]

Legendary guitarist Ace Frehley delivers spectacular non-stop ROCK show at Mystic Theatre in Petaluma

August 6, 2018

Last night was a night to remember. We were at the beautiful Mystic Theatre in Petaluma for the Ace Frehley concert. The venue has such rich history with a nostalgic decor, along with an amazing sound system and a fantastic staff.  The crowd was anxious and excited to catch Ace out on his tour. The night kicked off with one of our favorite guitarists, Tommy Odetto. We have been following him since his Bad Jones days and it is amazing to see how great his music has evolved as well as his career.  Check out some photos of Tommy Odetto and his band by our Rockin Ryan:   The fans went wild when Ace and his band took the stage and what a band it is! You have Chris Wyse (The Cult, Owl) on bass and vocals, Richie Scarlet (The Emperor of Rock and Roll) on guitar and vocals, and Scot Coogan (Lynch Mob, Lita Ford) on drums. They were spot on as their kick ass rock n roll sound resonated through the Mystic, stirring [Read More]
