Concert Review Neck Deep with WSTR and Creeper at the Strom

April 17, 2016

Munich, April 11th, 2016 It was an all English evening last Monday. When we got to the venue about 30 minutes before doors there weren’t that many people already waiting outside, so we were curious how many would show up that night. Turned out, the club was pretty packed…. WSTR were the first to hit the stage. Their set was very well received. The Liverpool based band released their EP last year September. Check it out. If you like Neck Deep, you’ll like them too. Second opener were Creeper. They just recently released an EP ‚The Stranger‘ not that long ago. They definitely brought along some fans to that show. There were quite a few people already singing along to their songs. It’s been their first time in Germany, but I’m sure it won’t be their last. Neck Deep, the headliner of the night, really tore the place apart. Or should I say their fans did? From the first tunes to the last note the crowd jumped, staged dived and sang along to each and [Read More]

VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE! kick off tour with Filter and Orgy with a fierce set in San Francisco!

April 14, 2016

Los Angeles rockers VAMPIRES EVERYWHERE are back and we just can’t get enough of them. Last night, they kicked off their tour with Filter and Orgy for the “Make America Hate Again Tour” in San Francisco at Slim’s. Just last month they released their new album, Ritual and now they are trekking out on a 30 date North American tour in support of the album. The tour kicked off last night and it was a great success! From the second they hit the stage, the energy was ablaze and the crowd was ready to ROCK! They not only delivered a kick ass set with many songs off their latest album, but even pulled out an old one for those long time fans. Their cover of Hozier’s “Take Me To Church” was eclectic and stellar. Michael Vampire has quite a charismatic stage presence that draws in the crowd and gets them moving. His vocals are not only powerful, but deliver a throaty sultry edge that is equally mesmerizing. Matti Hoffman was shredding like a madman on guitar [Read More]

NOFX kicks off The Hepatits Bathtub Tour in Berkeley and PUNK ROCK is alive and thriving!

April 13, 2016

For a Tuesday night in Berkeley, it was anything but quiet as NOFX kicked off “The Hepatitis Bathtub Tour”. The tour which coincides with the release of their new book, The Hepatitis Bathtub and Other Stories will be hitting venues across the county.  We caught the opening show at the UC Theatre in Berkeley and it was unbelievable! The night kicked off with three fantastic punk rock sets. First up was the punk band from Santa Cruz, Fast Asleep. They kicked the show off with a frenzy of raging punk songs that got the crowd riled up within seconds! They had a thrash metal influence in their punk rock that I loved as well. Check out some photos of their set: Next up was the kick ass punk band, Mean Jeans out of Portland, Oregon. They delivered a nice dose of old school punk rock that had me craving more of them. We picked up their 7″ at the show and can’t wait to get their other vinyls. Direct Hit! from Milwaukee came up next and the venue [Read More]

Interview with the awe-inspiring Lacey Sturm as she sets out on tour and captivates crowds.

April 12, 2016

Sunday night at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma was a magical one. We were excited for the arrival of Lacey Sturm, who is out on tour with Otep, September Mourning, Doll Skin and Through Fire. The legendary Phoenix Theater which was named after rising from the ashes after several fires in it’s history, served as the perfect backdrop for such an amazing night of inspiring music by Lacey. She has embarked on tour in support of her solo album, Life Screams which was released in February 2016. It is not only a bad ass hard rockin album, but it is a musical gem gleaming with honest raw emotionally driven tracks that have the power to help, heal or inspire the listener. Lacey creates a solid connection to the listener and brings a light to those who might be in a dark place. This album is one of my favorites and to see her perform live on Sunday, was spellbinding and uplifting. We had the chance to chat with Lacey before her set and are pleased to bring [Read More]

Interview with The Dreamers as they finish up one tour and ready to head out on another tour

April 12, 2016

The Dreamers have been quite busy touring and it doesn’t seem to have much slow down in site. We caught them on Saturday night as they closed out their Spring tour with the Arkells and The Karma Killers in San Francisco at the Social Hall. It was our first time at the venue which houses itself in the lower section of the Regency Ballroom.  It is a great venue that captures the energy and spirit of the bands.  First up was The Karma Killers who we were first introduced to last year at Warped Tour. They came out and got the crowd rockin with their punk infused rock. Next up the Arkells brought a fun spirited set to the final night of tour with everything from Elton John medley to crowd favorite sing-alongs. The Dreamers came out and finished off the night with their cosmic rock. They had the crowd energized and fueled, as the dancing became nonstop. Their feel good music is infectious and a mood elevator! For a band of three, their sound [Read More]

The Karma Killers deliver a fierce punk infused rock set in San Francisco

April 12, 2016

One of our highlights of last year’s Vans Warped Tour was The Karma Killers. They were so awesome and truly dominated with their punk tinged rock and roll. They came to San Francisco this past weekend as they were closing out their tour with Arkells and the Dreamers. They played at the Social Hall in San Francisco which is underneath the Regency Ballroom. The band kicked off the night with their high energy punk infused rock set. You couldn’t help but to get on your feet and move to their rockin songs. They have such a charismatic stage presence that invites the crowd to raise up the energy and let go! Check out some photos from their set by our Rockin Ryan: Make sure to visit their social media sites and stay up to date on all of their latest news. You don’t want to miss them if they are coming to your area! I will leave you with a quick video we did with them last year at Warped Tour.   You can [Read More]

Concert Review: Incarnate Tour with Killswitch Engage, Memphis May Fire, 36 Crazyfists and Toothgrinder

April 11, 2016

The Incarnate Tour featuring Killswitch Engage, Memphis May Fire, 36 Crazyfists and Toothgrinder made a stop in Sacramento last week at the Ace of Spades. It was a sold out show and the venue was packed as Toothgrinder kicked off the night with a fiercely energetic set. They got the crowd in a frenzy with their progressive metal that had a full on mosh pit within minutes. This is one band that you don’t want to miss. Next up was 36 Crazyfists, a favored metal band out of Alaska. They were well received by the crowd and had a lot of dedicated fans in attendance. They had everyone headbanging and fists in the air. Memphis May Fire brought on a sea of crowd surfers and an endless wave of fans trying to get that perfect “crowd surfing selfie”. The band sounded tight and on spot, giving 150% of themselves on that stage. Killswitch Engage hit the stage as disco lights and 70’s songs were in full swing. The crowd was refueled and ready for an [Read More]
