ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: Kyle Rising shines with performance at The Independent SF

October 24, 2023

One of our favorite sets of the year was not at a large festival, stadium venue, world tour events. It was at the intimate venue The Independent in San Francisco last week.  We were heading out to cover BabyJake on the SF tour stop and were happy to see that Kyle Rising was an opener.   We watched several of his Doors covers via Instagram and couldn’t help but be in awe of his uncanny resemblance to Jim Morrison and the amazing vocals to match.  One thing is certain, although you might have been introduced to Kyle through his Doors covers, it is his own style and songs that will keep you a longtime fan.  His music and vibe brings a nostalgic nod to the 70’s, all while his alluring voice delivers pure perfection with rich tones that hold you captivated. Check out his latest song, Honeydew which has a permanent spot on our daily playlist.   Kyle’s live performance highlights his passion and impressive stage performance. He not only has a striking voice but [Read More]

Our favorite rockers Dirty Honey kicked off their headlining “Can’t Find the Brakes Tour” last night in San Francisco with a jaw dropping high energy performance at The Regency Ballroom. The band is heading out across North America in support of their blazing new album Can’t Find the Brakes. The night started with a rockin set by Austin Meade who we recently caught at Aftershock Festival 2023. Dirty Honey features powerhouse vocals by Marc Labelle, incendiary guitar playing from John Notto, thunderous bass from Justin Smolian and it was the first show where we were introduced to the new drummer Jaydon Bean and he definitely blew us away.   They hit the stage and rocked the crowd with a high energy performance of the title track Can’t Find the Brakes. They continued with full force into Heartbreaker and the fans were loving every minute of it. The band sounded spot on and the charismatic energy of each member flowed seamlessly and effortlessly. Singer Songwriter BabyJake brings the fun to The Independent San Francisco

October 19, 2023

Nashville based singer songwriter BabyJake brought the fun to San Francisco with a tour stop at The Independent. His tour Aren’t We Ever Gonna Be More Than Friends? named after his third LP which was released this summer has been packing venues across the US. He comments about the tour “There’s nothing more genuine to me than being on stage performing my own songs that somehow became popular enough to wrangle up a crowd, but I can’t really fathom the thought of headlining an entire North America tour… But here I am announcing an entire North America tour… So put your cowboy boots & bell bottoms on & get ready to get rowdy, cause I can’t help but ask – Aren’t We Ever Gonna Be More Than Friends?” One thing is certain you can’t deny his genuine love for performing and he gives everything he’s got to the crowd and they happily reciprocate with cheers, dancing and singing along.  The energy reverberates through the audience and quickly gains momentum with each and every song. Måneskin brings phenomenal rock show to Oakland Arena

October 16, 2023

There is no doubt that Rock n Roll is alive and thriving when you have Italian rockers Måneskin on stage. They eat, sleep, breathe rock n roll at 150% and their shows back up that claim.  Måneskin brought their RUSH World Tour to the Oakland Arena this past weekend and it was nothing short of AMAZING! The crowd was fueled and ready to rock, no opener needed to get them going. The band walked out behind the curtains and began performing Don’t Wanna Sleep and when the curtains dropped, cheers and screams erupted throughout the arena.  The ROCK show begun and there was no slowing down from that moment until the end. It was filled with high energy, excellent musicianship and the band not only play off each other but incredible crowd interaction. Frontman extraordinaire Damiano David headed into the crowd and crowd surfed a few times. The effervescent and charismatic bassist Vic Deangelis had her own Vic’s Hot Chicks fan club in the front and she would come down to the crowd and they [Read More]

Bishop Briggs brings powerful performance to The Warfield in San Francisco

October 12, 2023

It was a hot June day in 2016 where we first saw Bishop Briggs perform live. She was performing in the small DJ tent at Live 105’s BFD and was one of the main artists that we were there to cover.  She blew us away that first time and we knew she was heading to the top! Over the years, we witnessed her perform at BottleRock, Fox Theater and many more venues, including the legendary Fillmore in SF where we were able to interview her. You can watch that 2017 interview here. I remember telling her how her music was an instant mood elevator and it still rings true today. We caught Bishop Briggs perform last night with MisterWives on The Don’t Look Down Tour at The Warfield in San Francisco. It was as she visualized, creating the best amazing night. She hit the stage with Art of Survival and the crowd went wild.  Her charismatic energy sparked the stage and ignited us with true passion. She gives so much of herself, in each and [Read More]
