Interview with Danger Escape as they Rocked the Whisky A GoGo

October 9, 2015

Sunday night we trekked down to the legendary Whisky A GoGo for an incredible night of music. It was the second night of New Years Day’s The Other Side Tour and it was a sold out house!  We will be bringing you all our coverage of the night but first, we wanted to bring you our interview with Danger Escape which was one of the great opening bands for the night. Danger Escape are from Los Angeles and the four piece alternative rock band delivered a high energy set of their original music and a great cover of Bring Me The Horizon’s Drown.  They have recently released their EP Pollution which is available on CD Baby, their Bandcamp page, and iTunes here and other online outlets. All the songs are great and you will find yourself adding them to your daily playlist. Chemical Battle has been getting a lot of play here in the Music Junkie Press office! Interview with Days Under Authority as they rocked the Valley Fire Benefit Concert

October 8, 2015

As you may know, we put on a Valley Fire Benefit Concert at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma last month. It was a great night as the community came together with an amazing group of musicians and the benefit was a success raising over $2,100 which will benefit the victims of the Valley Fire. All 100% of proceeds from the event are donated to Moose Lodge in Clearlake and Middletown Animal Hospital. We were honored to have Chasta Freeman Michaelis of 107.7 The Bone emcee our event. The night kicked off with the high energy set by Days Under Authority who drove up from Fresno. They hit the stage bursting with adrenaline and the crowd loved them. We had the chance to chat with these passionate musicians shortly after their set and you can check it out here: Check out some photos from their set by our Rockin Ryan:   To check out all the bands that performed, visit our post Valley Fire Benefit Concert.  Meanwhile, head over to the social media sites of Days Under Authority and [Read More]

Rafe Offer is bringing a concert to a living room near you – anywhere in the world. By Patrick O’Heffernan

October 2, 2015

(London) My first SOFAR-LA concert was held at a home in Los Angeles.  I didn’t know what to expect  – maybe one or two acoustic folky duos, playing with a primitive sound system to room full of middle-aged people sitting in chairs sipping wine.  That is not what happened…it was way better. There were three alt. rock bands, plenty of electronics, fabulous sound system, wall-to-wall millennials and no chairs.  But there was a laser-like focus on the music. This happens multiple times a week in over 181 cities around the world and it all started in a London living room because a marketing guy from Chicago named Rafe Offer loved music and wanted to hear it without the noise and expense of clubs and big venues. So he created SOFAR – Sounds From A Room. He took time from managing his global musical empire of volunteers and bands to talk with me from London.   Patrick. Would you describe SOFAR Sounds for us?   Rafe.  I think the best word is movement.  We started it [Read More]

Interview with His Dream of Lions

October 2, 2015

Alternative rockers His Dream of Lions have been rocking everyone with their new video for their song, Cradle. The song highlights their fresh new music that combines an alternative edge and rock in their catchy new track.  We had the chance for interview with Guitarist/Vocalist, Seth Coggeshall and are pleased to bring that you to you here: * * * * * * * * * * * Music Junkie Press: Thank you very much for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press. You guys did a great job with the new song and video for Cradle. Can you tell us more about that song? Seth: Of course thanks for having us! Cradle was the song that spurred us onto this new record. We spend a while reflecting on our previous work and realized the only way we could open doors for the band was by writing better music. Cradle, and the rest of the songs on this EP are the result of that process. Music Junkie Press:  We understand [Read More]

We had the opportunity to chat with Chelsea and are pleased to bring you the interview here: Music Junkie Press: Thank you for taking the time out to talk with us here at Music Junkie Press. We have been enjoying the new lyric video for Massive Attack. Great new infectious track. Can you tell me about what inspired you for the song? Chelsea: Thanks! I’m stoked to chat with Music Junkie Press!  With Massive Attack, I wanted to make a song that had a total badass and mysterious  trip hop vibe to it but also touched on a deeper subject. At first listen it comes off as a 007/femme fatale  story  but  when you really dive into it , there’s also another layer to it, of  going [Read More]
