Through the Universe: Ben Jaimen takes us on an E-ticket ride. By Patrick O’Heffernan

October 10, 2014

Los Angeles. Ben Jaimen is very, very good  and his US debut EP, Through the Universe, demonstrates that in spades. A native of Germany with family in Israel and Argentina, Jaimen moves easily among those and other countries, picking up musical influences while retaining a certain humble cosmopolitan air. Music training in Israel and London, summers teaching to disabled barrio children in Cordoba, recording in Germany and LA, he has seen and given a lot. He has sung to a million people at the Brandenburg Gate in Germany, written and recorded hundreds of songs, and played gigs from Berlin to Tel Aviv. A pop rocker who writes and performs with the precision of a seasoned professional, he  knows how to hold a crowd  or  lay down  popular tracks. Most important, he is also determined  to live and sing with integrity and to be his own man. With  Through the Universe he is very much his  own man; he has produced a musical E-ticket ride and trust me, you will love every twist and bump. [Read More]

Interview with Charlee Conley of Farewell, My Love contributed by Drift N Die

October 9, 2014

Charlee Conley of Farewell, My Love Interview Glam rock isn’t dead, folks! Theatrical rock is slowly returning, and heading up the crowd is a group that if you don’t know them yet, you definitely need to! Farewell, My Love is a band I can only describe as Tim Burton’s version of a hair metal band. Stage costumes, a few well placed lights and fog machines isn’t all this band has to offer though! They bring a beautiful glam rock style back to a genre that was desperately in need of a new sound. Farewell, My Love has obvious influences from bands like My Chemical Romance, but they’ve made it all their own. These guys bring their passion to the stage; a passion shared equally throughout the band. Bassist Charlee Conley recently spoke with Drift N Die Press about the future of the band, the memories they’ve gained, and gave us insight towards his own personal influences.   DND: What’s the general concept & mission of Farewell, My Love? Charlee: From day one, we’ve always labeled [Read More]

Megafauna getting ready to set out on West Coast tour dates!

October 9, 2014

It was just last month when we brought you our interview with the incredible prog-rock/alternative band Megafauna from Austin. I am excited to announce they are getting ready to set out on their West Coast Tour dates next week! Check out the cool West Coast Tour Poster which was created by Tristan Lewellyn, John Musci and Austin Haines.   If you don’t already have it, make sure to pick up their latest release, Maximalist which is quite deserving of your attention. I am not going to do them the injustice of trying to place them into a music genre category because their fresh new bold style of music fuses a variety of musical influences and have successfully created their own unique sound. You can pick up great tones of progressive rock, alternative grunge style, power pop and garage rock.   We are excited to be seeing a stop in San Francisco at the Bottom of the Hill on October 23rd. We will try and bring you full coverage of the event. In case you missed it, [Read More]
