Jake Furia announces August tour dates for New York

August 1, 2014

The multi genre performer, Jake Furia definitely has a passion for music. I love that this young talented musician is so versatile with his music and it truly shows with  his well crafted songs on his new EP, The Acoustic EP.  The EP, which was recorded at Get Open Studios in Long Island and engineered by Michael Coppola, it can be purchased on iTunes here: http://bit.ly/1elu3gd. “‘The Acoustic EP’ for me is a starting point. It’s music in a really raw and bare-bones format, and I wanted to start with it for that reason. In my career, I want to get to experience music in as many ways as I can. Everyone who loves art has something in  specific to them that they love about it. I think thats beautiful and I want to discover all’ve those things.” explains Furia. Jake has announced several August tour dates for New York with his band The Be Yourselves. Check out the dates below: August 05                        Rockville Centre, NY          Vibe Lounge August 09                        Patchogue, NY                      ArtSpace August 15                        Holbrook, [Read More]

Eyes Set To Kill is our Monster Energy Aftershock Featured Band of the Day

July 30, 2014

Today our Monster Aftershock Festival Featured Band of the Day goes to Eyes Set To Kill. If you are not familiar with them, first… shame on you! second, let me tell you about this great band. These three have such passion for their music and it shines through each and every song. Their hard rock/metal music has been capturing everyone’s attention for years. They are not a new band, they may be young but you might be surprised to know that they have over a 10 year history. Though they have had many line up changes, I feel that today they shine as a solid band and the founding members, sisters Anissa and Alexia along with long time member Caleb are strong and tight which is displayed when they perform. They have an incredible stage presence and I can’t wait for everyone at Aftershock to see how bad ass Eyes Set To Kill are.  They have been touring extensively in support of their highly praised album, Masks which was released last year through Century Media Records. This [Read More]

Theory of a Deadman is our Monster Energy Aftershock Featured Band of the Day

July 29, 2014

Today we are back at highlighting the many awesome bands on the lineup for this year’s Monster Energy Aftershock Festival. Our spotlight for today is on one of my personal favorites, Theory of a Deadman. I was glad to see them on the lineup because it has been way too long since my last concert of theirs. They have also just released their new album, Savages on Roadrunner Records. This is the fifth full length album for the Canadian rockers and it is another great one. They have definitely honed in on mastering their craft and taken chances on this album that I think are well taken. I love to see a band evolve into their own style and doing what they want to do and make the music “they” want and this album highlights their great songwriting skills. Tyler Connolly explains more about this album, “It’s such a different record for us,” he asserts. “I’m known as the guy who writes all of the ‘breakup’ songs. It would have been typical to write more, so [Read More]
