October 19, 2013

Just over a month ago, we featured the very talented Ben Draiman for our Tuesdays Travels pick. He had mentioned he was working on a cover he was soon to release. Well, the time has come and the cover is out and is AMAZING! Ben has released his new interpretation of Disturbed’s “Stricken“. We had the opportunity to interview Ben to discuss more about this remarkable cover.  First check out the cover:   * * * * * * * *  Music Junkie Press: Thank you Ben for taking the time to talk with us about your recent cover.  I know that in the past you have covered another Disturbed song, “Darkness” as you paid tribute to your brother David while he was visiting you at one of your shows.  Can you tell us what made you choose “Stricken” for your next cover? Like Monroe release lyric video for “The Enemy”

October 16, 2013

We had told you about Like Monroe a couple months ago ( formerly A Candle Lit City) and brought you an interview with vocalist, Ty Johnson, read here.  Today we wanted to let you know that Like Monroe just released a lyric video for their new single “The Enemy”. Check it out here:   Lead singer Ty Johnson has been quoted before as saying,  “Every song for us has been about growth. We feel that we are writing our most thought provoking, yet inspiring music we have ever produced and we couldn’t be more proud”. This is one song to be proud of guys! Great job! I love this song. It has a great mixture of deep scream vocals meshed with hard rock vocals. along with bad ass drumming. The guitars are drop tuned heavy guitars that I always enjoy. You can pick up the new single today through their website here.   So make sure to check them out and follow them at all their new social media sites. ~ Marisol Information & Links: Facebook: www.facebook.com/likemonroeband Twitter: www.twitter/likemonroeband [Read More]

Heaven’s Basement makes quite an impression on San Francisco!

October 15, 2013

Last month we told you how UK rockers Heaven’s Basement really stole the show at the Ernie Ball stage during the Aftershock Festival. You can read more about that here. Well this past weekend, Heaven’s Basement made their debut appearance in San Francisco at Slim’s where they were performing with The Pretty Reckless and Louna. The lineup alone was incredible as it had British, American and Russian bands touring together on the Going to Hell Tour and they really put on quite a show. Shortly before their set, we had the opportunity to interview Sid Glover and Aaron Buchanan as they told us about what other countries they look forward to touring next.  We are pleased to bring you the interview from Slim’s right here:   Heaven’s Basement truly has an incredible electrifying stage presence. These four guys give a 150% of themselves out on that stage and it continues from the first note to the last song.  It is amazing to watch as they must high octane adrenaline running through those veins.  Aaron definitely has an amazing talent to [Read More]
