Love and a .38 delivers new music with “Just a Woman”

February 20, 2013

Well they did it again! One of my favorite bands, Love and a .38 released their new song via a free download and it blows my mind again. They really seem to deliver just what I am missing these days. Their new song “Just a Woman” has such a bluesy classic rock sound to it and I just fell in love with it instantly. It has a great chorus that makes me want to cruise out on the open highway with no worries and my Love and a .38 turned up loud! They are playing this Thursday, 21st at the Roxy in Hollywood. You can still get tickets here at TicketWeb.  It is a show that we are so sad to miss! We tried to rearrange my schedule and tried to find someone to cover my time with my Mom but we had no luck. This was one show we didn’t want to miss and are sad to not be there and watch these guys Rock the Roof off the Roxy.  This will be the first night [Read More]

Marie-Claire Berreen is a majestic beauty wrapped in music

February 12, 2013

Majestic Beauty Wrapped in Music I have a wonderful treat for your ears. It is the majestic beauty wrapped in music by Marie-Claire Berreen. When you think of some of the best female vocalists like Barbra Streisand, Sarah McLaughlin, Tori Amos, and Leigh Nash,  you think of powerful voices that can reach within you and touch you with warmth. That is what I feel when I listen to the classical folk music by Marie-Claire Berreen. Marie-Claire’s voice is like sunshine brightening the sky. you can’t help but feel the warmth from her words and they leave you feeling sun kissed. She has a wonderful CD of her beautiful music titled, “Box and a Ribbon” that will take over all of your senses.  The first song is “Honeypie” and literally is the perfect way to start off the CD. You are warm and open and feel her welcoming embrace. It is like that long lost friend coming to greet you again and feeling like you never left their side. You are treated to so many wonderful [Read More]

Will Turpin and The Way perform a first rate show on Stageit!

February 12, 2013

I had the pleasure of watching my first Stageit concert last week and it was an awesome one. Stageit provides live broadcasts of performers and you get a front row seat right to watch it all without even leaving your house. It was a great experience and even more so since it was Will Turpin and The Way performing the complete song list from The Lighthouse as well as a couple extra surprises.  Will Turpin, known for being the amazing bassist for one of my favorite rock bands, Collective Soul. I have probably seen Collective Soul over 25 times and I look forward to many more shows of theirs in the future. With Will’s solo project, he embarks on a journey of incredible song writing and plays multiple instruments and vocals. His style reminds me of  Ben Folds, Jason Mraz, and Paul Simon. He in no way imitates since his own style is a fusion of all the best and he is truly a talented musician that shines through his music. It is wonderful to [Read More]

From the Fallen delivers pure adrenaline

February 11, 2013

From the Fallen = Pure Adrenaline Get ready for to be infused with energy by this female fronted metal rock band, From the Fallen. From the first time you hear them the adrenaline flows through your veins as you get ready to rock hard and heavy. This four piece band Metal band formed in 2009 and comes from Fresno, California and they are ready to take over and command you listen to them! I just love their energy and high powered rock. From the Fallen is fronted by Amber McConnell and her incredibly powerful vocals, Brandon McConnell yielding some awesome guitars,  Harry Garvin lays down the bass and Christopher Heil delivers heavy hitting precision drums. They are a combination that is fierce in so many ways! Reminding me of Halestorm, Disturbed and Flyleaf. If you are needing some adrenaline in your veins to get you off your feet and ready to rock, then this band is the one to deliver it and they have a  new album that you have to get your hands on! Sara Skinner rocks you with her angelic voice!

January 16, 2013

Sara Skinner WOW! Amazing voice that just embraces your soul. Truly the work of an angel. That is how I can describe this next artist. I have to tell you about an unbelievable new artist that I am looking forward to seeing at NAMM at the Lampifier Microphone booth next week.  That incredible voice belongs to beautiful and talented, Sara Skinner. I first heard about Sara and was asked to check out one of her cover songs that she does on her Youtube channel. She actually sings live on her videos but also has her original work.  I didn’t get the chance to watch the covers, then I got asked to watch her video for her release of her original song, “Break”.  After the first second of  hearing her voice, I was just captivated. She has such a smooth voice with mysterious edges that just leave you longing for more. It is funny since she posts her cover songs in hopes of getting viewers to listen to her originals. For me, after watching  “Break”, I [Read More]
