English legendary actor/singer, Sir Christopher Lee has released a metal EP, Metal Knight on his 92nd birthday. Sir Christopher is well known for his role as Count Dracula, Samuran in Lord of the Rings and my favorite role of Count Dooku in the final two films of Star Wars prequel trilogy.
Sir Christopher Lee is no stranger to metal music. For his 90th birthday he surprised us all by releasing his metal single, Let Legend Mark Me as a King. He then released his first metal album, Charlemagne: Omens of Death on his 91st Birthday. Lee mentions in a video, “I associate heavy metal with fantasy because of the tremendous power that the music delivers,” Check out that video here:
The track listing for the EP is as follows:
1 | I, Don Quixote |
2 | The Impossible Dream |
3 | The Toreador March |
4 | My Way (Radio Edit) |
5 | I, Don Quixote (Extended Version) |
6 | The Impossible Dream (Extended Version) |
7 | The Toreador March (Extended Version) |
Sir Christopher mentions that the album was inspired by ‘Don Quixote’, he explains, “As far as I am concerned, Don Quixote is the most metal fictional character that I know. Single handed, he is trying to change the world, regardless of any personal consequences“. I absolutely love his cover of Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” which was the song my father requested to be played at his funeral. If only this song was out a couple years ago, it would have been perfect for his funeral. Anyway, let’s raise our horns up to the legendary Christoper Lee and crown him the Metal Knight!
