There is no denying it. Rock n Roll is alive and thriving, just ask last night’s sold out crowd at the Fox Theater in Oakland. Rockers Greta Van Fleet kicked off night 1 of 3 Bay Area shows that we have dubbed, “Rock n Roll Bay Area Takeover”. The young fast rising Michigan band has caught the attention of rock n roll fans of all ages, as the crowd was diverse and included a range of young fans on up to seasoned rockers. The band features, brothers Josh Kiszka, guitarist Jake Kiszka, bassist Sam Kiszka, and long time family friend Danny Wagner on drums. Their music is a resurrection of the classic 70’s riff-heavy rock dipped in soulful blues.

Lisa has just released a memoir, A Light in the Darkness,  about a decade of creating music, plays, and performances in face of a debilitating disease. She calls her illness the “Gift in the Curse”;  the Curse is the disease  the Gift is her ability to share connect with others and inspire those with life challenges.  As long as I have known her she has been a source of joy, creativity, and strength, so I was very happy to get a few minutes with her this week.   Patrick.
