The Word Alive released another new song from their upcoming record ‘Monomania’.
‘No Way Out’ is a very personal song, that has a special meaning to the band’s lead singer Telle Smith, as he shared on facebook:
I could talk for days about what this song means to me. It’s the heaviest lyrical content I’ve ever let myself share with you all, and certainly will be hard to not choke up when we play it live for you so learn the words and help me sing it with you soon =>
Forever grateful for my family and friends who helped me through a dark chapter of my life to the brightest one I’m living in today ?
Extra special thanks you to my brother @erikron for helping me write this song and being there for me always.
Thank you to @oriemcginness for bringing a story to life and my favorite TWA music video to date!!
I FUCKING LOVE THIS SONG ?
No Way Out doesn’t hold back as it instantly pulls you into the darkest day of my life. It’s a song I needed to tell for myself just as much as someone else may need to hear it. The worst thing a person can do is lose themselves completely, and that’s exactly what happened to me.
December 18th 2017 will forever be a reminder to me that nothing is more important than maintaining perspective and honoring your true self. We all have a story to tell. We all have dreams, and goals to accomplish. This song is about how I almost lost all of mine, and the dark cyclone of pain, regret, grief and self-pity that pulled me past the point of no return.
Thankfully I am here today to tell it, and hopefully remind you all that the best is yet to come. You have three choices in life when faced with what feels like an onslaught of negativity… You can run from your problems and disregard the power you have over your life, you can pretend that things will just go away if you ignore them or you can face the hardest days of your life head on. And when you do, you will win.
This song will likely be the hardest song I’ll ever have to write, and I’m so humbled to be able to share it with you. To all of my friends and family who helped me rebuild my life and honored my private battles with silence, your encouragement is what gave me strength when mine was gone.
If you ever think there is no way out, there is. And the answer to how lies ahead, in the unknown, ready for you to find it. “No Way Out” is an acknowledgement of how far I fell from who I am, so that I can chase the best version of myself every day.
The Word Alive’s new record ‘Monomania’ will be released through Fearless Records on February 21st.
The band will head out on tour with Falling In Reverse and Escape The Fate in the US in February. Some shows are already sold out, so you better be quick, if you want to see that awesome line-up live and be amongst the first to hear The Word Alive’s new songs performed on stage.
