As many of you are aware, we lost our home and business in the Tubbs Fire last October and it has been a daily battle to get through each day. One thing is certain, music has been the healing grace that keeps us going. When we are at our lowest, we turn to music and it is there to comfort, heal, and inspire. Through all the devastation that the October brought, there is a light of hope.
Prairie Sun Studios in Cotati are set to release a CD, Out of the Fire, which is a collection of heartfelt songs performed by some amazing Sonoma County musicians. Check out the press release below:

OUT OF THE FIRECotati, CA – On Sunday, July 8th, Prairie Sun Studios is hosting a benefit party celebrating the release of Out Of The Fire, a collection of heartwarming songs performed by a group of dedicated musicians. The intention of the soulful benefit recording is to raise money and distribute it to people who lost their instruments or audio gear in the devastating October 2017 Sonoma County wildfires.
Mooka Rennick, owner/founder of Prairie Sun Recording explains about the project, “This is about musicians helping musicians.” The Out of the Fire CD features talented artists: Sarah Baker, Volker Strifler, Levi Lloyd, Danny Sorentino, Johnny Campbell, Doug Jayne, Willy Jordan, Eki Shola, Allegra Broughton & Sam Page, and Steve Kimock accompanied by many other local musicians to create a rich and compelling story of rising out of the ashes.
The Out of the Fire CD features 11 dynamic songs, mostly originals with a few carefully selected covers. The title track, “Out of the Fire” is a Blues ballad by Sarah Baker. Other songs include, “One Day at a Time”, “Lean on Me”, “You Are Not Alone”, “Start All Over Again”, “Best Things in Life”, “Place Called Home”, “Reach Out Touch a Hand”, “Marching On”, “Home” and “Jam N’ See”.
