Tuesday night at Brick & Mortar Music Hall was the perfect reminder of why live music in intimate venues is so special.

Opening the night was Kin + Me, who kicked things off with an energetic DJ remix set that had the crowd dancing early and set the tone for a fun night ahead.

Next up was San Francisco indie rock band Slow Coast and they absolutely delivered. Their music is the perfect blend of feel-good vibes and summer energy, creating a sound that’s instantly inviting. Their infectious performance quickly won over the audience, with the crowd fully embracing every song. They brought just the right mix of catchy melodies, driving rhythms, and uplifting energy, making them the perfect lead-in for the night’s headliner.

Headlining the evening was Lucius Arthur, an artist I’ve been looking forward to seeing for quite some time. I’ve been following him on Instagram and have loved everything he’s been releasing, so finally seeing him live was something I had been anticipating. Somehow, he exceeded every expectation.

From the moment he stepped on stage, Lucius Arthur commanded the room with a magnetic stage presence. He’s captivating from start to finish and still remains incredibly genuine and connected with the audience. You can tell he’s truly enjoying every second on stage and that excitement translates into a performance that’s both passionate and unforgettable. His vocals are spot-on, carrying emotion that pulls you into every song.

With the release of The Big Machine, Lucius Arthur is an artist you won’t want to overlook. Seeing him in a small, intimate venue like Brick & Mortar felt like catching lightning in a bottle. Watching Lucius Arthur also reminded me why I fell in love with music in the first place. Instead, Lucius Arthur takes those timeless influences and transforms them into something entirely his own which is a fresh, modern sound that honors the past while confidently carving out its own identity.
