The Last Dinner Party deliver a pure night of ecstatic revelry at the El Rey Theatre

November 6th, 2023 was a night that will go down in our music history.  We travelled from San Francisco to attend the first Los Angeles show of The Last Dinner Party at the El Rey Theatre.  The show was sold out and was one of only 5 US shows on their tour. This was a night not to be missed.

We first heard The Last Dinner Party on our local radio station Live 105 as they were featuring up and coming bands.  They played Nothing Matters and we were hooked from the first listen. We voraciously searched for more information on this English band and sat in sadness as they didn’t have any shows yet in the US.  We spent months playing their songs and wishing for a time to catch them live. Then they announced their 5 US tour dates and we immediately booked our trip.  We were sure to be in attendance for this event!

The Last Dinner Party is made up of  powerhouse females that deliver a baroque-pop-rock style that is refreshing and addictive. The music brings everything from post punk, alt rock, operatic notes, and art-rock. Everything from their music to style, to their  fashion sense is infectious and we have been completely hooked.

In all the time of covering concerts we have witnessed fans who dress for the shows and completely succumb to the artist’s vibe and we have loved that dedication.  Well, here it was…now our turn, as we couldn’t wait to attend the show, as if we were being invited to a once in a lifetime gala.  We dressed for the occasion complete in our custom made TLDP jackets and shirts.

The El Rey was full of other festively dressed attendees and the energy in the room was stirring with anticipation. The night kicked off with a sensational set by Brigitte Calls Me Baby which brought a sound reminiscent of Morrissey, Elvis and Arctic Monkeys, yet creating a sound all on their own.

The crowd went wild as The Last Dinner Party hit the stage and the energy and adrenaline never wavered from that moment on.  It was a pure ecstatic night of revelry. To witness this band perform for the first time in Los Angeles felt as if we had a front row to music history being made.  This band will soon become your favorite new band, you just have to listen to them once!

The night went by so quick as we were fully immersed into the enjoyment of each and every song. The set for the night
