The Last Dinner Party release new single, Knocking at the Sky

The Last Dinner Party have returned with another captivating release, unveiling their new single, “Knocking At The Sky,” which arrives alongside the digital deluxe edition of their acclaimed sophomore album, From The Pyre.

The band describes “Knocking At The Sky” as the final chapter of the From The Pyre story. After building an album filled with rich storytelling and immersive worlds, they wanted to close the journey with a tale set in what they call the ultimate modern myth—Los Angeles. They paint Hollywood as a surreal fairytale, where dreams, ambition, and larger-than-life characters all collide in a landscape that is both glamorous and unsettling.

Fans first got a taste of the song during the final night of the band’s sold-out UK tour at London’s Brixton Academy in late 2025. It was also the final track they recorded with producer Animesh Raval at Church Studios in Crouch End. The accompanying music video, directed by Sinclair Bryant, embraces the band’s own version of Los Angeles, drawing inspiration from classic Hollywood cinema, noir films, slasher movies, and even the wonderfully offbeat world of filmmaker John Waters.

The deluxe edition of From The Pyre arrives one year after the album was first introduced with the infectious single “This Is The Killer Speaking.” It also includes fan favorites “Big Dog” and its spoken-word companion piece, “Come All You Beasts,” making this expanded release an exciting addition for listeners.

If you haven’t yet, make sure to check out our review of their show at the Fox Theatre in Oakland earlier this year.

The Last Dinner Party have barely slowed down since From The Pyre was released. After wrapping up a successful U.S. headline tour, they’re spending the summer playing major festivals including Isle of Wight, TRNSMT, Latitude, Wilderness, and Finsbury Park alongside Wolf Alice, as well as several European festival appearances. They’ll then return to the U.S. this fall to support sombr on an arena tour.

Looking ahead to early 2027, the band will also join Olivia Rodrigo on select dates of The Unravelled Tour in Los Angeles and New York. Every one of the twenty shows has already sold out, marking another milestone after previously sharing the stage with Rodrigo at BST Hyde Park in 2025.

Beyond the music, The Last Dinner Party continue to use their platform to support the creative community. Earlier this year, they hosted The Market Place at The MáLà Project in Brooklyn, bringing together local artists and makers to showcase and sell their work while connecting them with new audiences.

Their charitable efforts continue through Ribbons for Provisions, an initiative supporting local food banks in every city on their current U.S. tour. Volunteers and donors receive ribbons in recognition of their support, and the project has already raised nearly £50,000 throughout the UK and Europe, along with more than $40,000 across the United States.

Whether it’s through their cinematic songwriting, unforgettable live performances, or commitment to giving back, The Last Dinner Party continue to prove they’re one of the most exciting bands to watch.
