Los Angeles-based punkband The Linda Lindas released their highly anticipated new single “Oh!” a few days ago.
“‘Oh!’ is one of the first singles we wrote masked and distanced during the pandemic”, the band recollects. “It started with the main-riff that Bela brought into the band. Eloise wrote the verses and Lucia and Mila the refrains. The song is about trying to help someone and having it blow up in your face.”
The colorful and funny video was directed by Ryan Baxley (Best Coast, The Regrettes, Charlie Hanson) and shows the American skateboarder and photographer Ray Barbee.
Additionally, the song is played in the trailer for the Netflix series “The Chair” with Golden Globe-winner Sandra Oh as the main character. “The Chair” is about Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim (Oh), who orientates herself in her new role as head of the English faculty at the renowned Pembroke University. Ji-Yoon is the first woman to the chair and faces, as one of the few colored employers at the University, a series of challenges. Watch the trailer here.
