Ska-punk pioneers The Mighty Mighty BossToneS will release their 11th studio album ‘When God Was Great’ on May 7th via Hellcat Records.
Co-produced by Ted Hutt (The Gaslight Anthem, Dropkick Murphys) and Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong (Transplants, Jimmy Cliff) ‘When God Was Great’ is the peak of their extensive career. The band brings friends, tour colleagues and band members from the past back for a sonic celebration, which emphasizes the power of perseverance and human connection in turbulent times. The album has 15 tracks that initially rose from a collective feeling of loss.
The band states:
“Before this madness, we simply wrote songs without any time plan in our heads. Suddenly the world changed and important events in a very long career that we looked forward to, like for example play with the Madness at the Greek Theatre, were taken from us”, frontman Dicky Barrett explains.
“With all that time on our hands we started to write with an accelerated tempo and we were truly inspired. As dogged as everything around us was on the outside, it was the most fun we ever had making a record”
With ‘Don’t Believe In Anything’ there’s another track online now. Check it out here:
