Indie rockers The Runarounds are continuing their big breakout year with the release of the new music video for “Bleachers,” and it perfectly captures that feeling of being young and wanting those moments to last forever.
The track brings together their indie melodies with a nostalgic feeling that instantly takes you back to late night drives, sneaking out, first loves, and all those memories that stay with you as you get older and sometimes long for. It has that emotional energy that makes you want to roll the windows down and just live in the moment.
One of the coolest parts about the video is that it features real fans during the performance scenes filmed at The Commodore in Charleston, South Carolina. That gives the video a genuine feeling and really shows the connection the band has with their fans. Drummer Zendé Murdock said
“We had such a blast filming our latest music video! Thanks to our incredible team, we were able to find little pockets of time over a couple days on tour to film this awesome video, all brought together by our talented friends Brad Walker, John Lehman, Sean Leas, and of course Jonas Pate! Also shoutout to our ever so sweet Charleston peeps who joined us for the performance scenes, we love ya so much :)”
“Bleachers” is one of those songs that feels personal and relatable while still bringing a big uplifting indie rock sound. Definitely a track to turn up loud and get lost in for a few minutes. Watch the video here and get ready for the feels:
Guitarist and vocalist Axel Ellis commented:
“Bleachers was written initially about sneaking out when you were younger. While we’re all a bit too old to have to ‘sneak out’ these days – we wrote it as if we were still doing things we used to do in high school. Things like turning your headlights off before picking up a friend so their parents don’t see, or silently shuffling down the driveway so as to not make a sound – things that used to make our hearts race back when curfews mattered. It led us down a road of wanting to take back that fleeting nostalgia – the nights in the backseat, or under the bleachers. It’s a reconnection with youth, recognizing although you might not be in that same place anymore, why not try to keep the good days alive?”
