Motor Sister announce special holiday hometown show on December 19th!

December 10, 2015

Motor SisterĀ have announced a very special hometown holiday show on December 19th at Molly Malones. You can pick up tickets by heading over to Ticketweb. Motor Sister released their debut full-length, Ride, earlier this year to critical acclaim. Comprised of a group of musicians whose collective musical pedigrees speak for themselves (Mother Superior‘s Jim Wilson, Anthrax‘s Scott Ian, Pearl Aday,Fates Warning/Armored Saint‘s Joey Vera, and White Zombie/Testament‘s John Tempesta), the quintet was originally assembled to jam for Scott Ian’s 50th birthday party. Thanks to Scott’s wife Pearl Aday, who has been working on her solo career with Jim Wilson for years, all it took was a quick phone call and the stage was literally set for Scott’s dream gig. “I wanted to cherry-pick a set list of my favorite Mother Superior songs and get these guys together and have the concert at my house,” Scott says of the event that eventually led to an album. Since their formation and the release of Ride, Motor Sister has performed at the prestigious Motorhead Motorboat cruise, in addition [Read More]

The Walcotts at the El Rey:Ā  nowhere to go but up. By Patrick O’Heffernan

November 22, 2015

(Los Angeles) There is a reason why people were lined up Monday night on the sidewalk outside the El Rey Theater in Los Angeles at 5 oā€™clock.Ā  As one girl who was hanging over the barrier separating the photo pit from the stage said, ā€œWe Ā wanted to be right here when The Walcotts come onā€.Ā  Of course she ā€“ and the hundreds of people pressing her and her friends into the rail ā€“ were also there for the headliner, Christ Stapleton.Ā  But Ā LAā€™s high-octane,Ā  countrified, California Americana rock band was more than enough reason to stand in the cold for 2 hours. Being within touching distance ofĀ  Tom Cusimano,Ā  Laura Marion, Devin Shea and the other half dozen indefatigable musicians that make up The Walcotts was a special magic.   And The Walcotts delivered that magic.Ā  The pounded out a generous set of 12 songs, all so high powered and fast moving that you could almost feel the air being pushed off the stage like the exhaust of a jet plane.Ā  If you only knew [Read More]

With the upcoming new release, METANOIA by IAMX, truly signifies a rebirth for the band

September 21, 2015

IAMX is on a path of rebirth as the upcoming release of the new album, METANOIA is set to release on October 2nd through Metropolis The mastermind of IAMX, Chris Corner comments, Unfortunately or fortunately mental illness has given me a lot to write about.Ā It’s the most specific record I’ve done. It became almost a mission for me to explore those issues. When I was at my worst I constantly searched for people going through the same shit. It would help me not feel alone or insane. I want to give that to others with this record because depression is an epidemic and tragically under discussed.” ‘Suffering through the at-the-time undiagnosed, debilitating disease of Chronic Insomnia that crippled him mentally, emotionally and creatively, it halted the band almost completely, preventing touring, songwriting, and forming and maintaining meaningful interpersonal relationships with his friends and fans.’ He continues, Ā “Before I started on the album, I wrote a blog about my experiences. I thought it was risky at the time because mental challenges are rarely and honestly talked [Read More]
